1 Day Ban?

Well.. one of my bots got banned today (June,26) and it says it expires june, 26th 2011.. yes he was banned for botting. It was his first botting offence.. so are the 14 day bans gone? -.- fuck

Do they issue 1 YEAR bans? It was his first macroing offence.. his first offence period..

 

Nope, it's like a strike system. That is your first strike and once you get 3 strikes... You're out (<sports metaphor ). But it takes a whole year for THAT strike to get wiped off of your accounts. If you get me?

 

No, it expires in 2011, 14 days are still in effect, you just have the offense on your account. Out of curiosity, what bot were you doing/ time per day?

also guy should be noted that people have tested how the banning thing works. brand new accounts do get the perm straight off apparently while experienced accounts get the strike system

It's a 14 day ban but the offence alone expires in 1 year. meaning it will get scratched out and he will have 0/10 blackmarks instead of 2/10.. (Example)

As to the post I thought they didn't issue "ban expires" dates, I thought when you got banned for macroing, you got permed for ever. That's odd never saw that.

Once you get to level 80 and go to LRC you are pretty much safe

 

I thought they just perm banned you but i guess not

 

JaGeX changed it to 14 day ban for first botting offense.

Rumor is it's so people buy more membership when botting, making them more money.

 

Yeah i was also banned 26 june, and it said the same thing expires 26 june 2011. i was like damn... first offence also. was doing soul wars for about 2hrs after i bought the bot... they must of had a crackdown or something.

 

How many people have to say this?

It is a 14 day ban, not a year. The offence expires in a year, that means that it takes a year before another offence will be seen as a first offence again, not that it takes a year to be unbanned.

I've seen 14 day and perm bans for a first offence.

14 day bans expire in a year, perm bans never expire

His offence expires in a year, and he didn't post the bit that said how long he is banned for.

Unless he is the only person to get banned for a year AND forgot to post the bit that says he's banned for a year, he didn't get banned for a year.

14 days it is.

 

So its been established that he was implemented a 14 day ban.. NOT a one year ban? Why doesn't the offense history specify how long the ban is? How does one know how long they are banned for? I suppose this 14 day length is just commonly known and so we can all only presume he will have his account back in 14 days?

 

That's a 1 year ban, but they do have a new policy where you have 3 chances and then your permanently banned.
