Require pictures for ALL sales

While a lot of sections have rules requiring pictures to be given on any sale thread in that section, there are a lot of sections that do not - and this is worrying. The reason there are requirements for pictures is to fight scammers who don't have what they claim to have, so why is this not a Sythe-wide rule instead of only in some sections? Personally, I think it would be a better idea to have it be a Sythe-wide rule, with infractions given out for those who disobey it.

 

I support, only because its annoying to see how many people ignore sticky's, for example at the moment theres about 5-7 active threads in the "Runescape Item Sales" section without pictures and theres a sticky saying no pictures = lock... these threads really never get locked though...

 

I support this, It is very annoying. I think a DEFANITE place is the "Runescape - Items Sales" and the "Runescape - Guide Sales" e.g you see a guide and the only proof you can get is from a Moderator who might of not even tried out the guide. Pictures would be great. (Not saying for guides, Pictures is the only thing you need!)

 

Eh, fair enough. Adding it into the Official Sythe.org rules couldn't do to much damage.

Except for pin sales Pictures would be a bit stupid in there.
It can make it harder to scam as scammers dont always have what they scam.

1) If you go into a thread with zero pictures, you're stupid for being scammed. Someone with a trusted reputation on Sythe usually gets that way due to the professionalism that they display in their threads.
2) You want to exponentially increase the amount of work Sythe staff have on theirs hands?

You could add it into the rules, but it won't do shit.

No, I want to exponentially increase the amount of work I have on my hands. I've been going through threads on the forums where you need pictures and reporting them to the mods, all the mods have to do is spend about 5 minutes locking em all.

 

Agreed with recovery king, ALSO: Sythe could hire up some new staff members that have the power to close a thread without pictures, Or at least lock it. All they would need is another 2 or 3 new staff that ONLY specialize in the 'Pictures in threads'

 

Which sales/services in particular are you talking about? It wouldn't make sense to require pictures for pin sales, etc...

 

I think for ALL runescape related sales except pin sales. So for goldfarming, guides, everything. Pretty much all sales apart from pins. Including Non-Virtual sales.

 

Pictures of guides...?

 

Pictures of proof your guide works, e.g like those dungeoneering smuggling guides, They need to post a picture of THEM outside of dungeoneering with items. For a moneymaking guide they can take before and after pictures or something.

 

I suppose this could be enforced more, although there will have to be exceptions.

 

Require pictures for all tangible items. An account or some GP is tangible, even if its virtual. Pins are essentially currency, thus intangible, and the same with guides.

 

How do you take a picture of pins to prove you have them? That makes no sense at all.

For the big GP stores, posting pictures that show that you have the GP is also pointless, as the amount they have may be spread of many accounts and changes a lot.

Guides you can not really take pictures of either. I don't see how that would work.

The picture rule is only in some sections, because it works well in those sections and it makes sense.
