Interested in starting to play WoW...

Hey, I'm looking into starting WoW as RuneScape bores me. I heard there's this thing called RaF. Can someone please explain this in detail and how it is benefitual to me?

Also, Horde and Alliance. Are there any difference between them? Is horde better than Alliance or vice versa?

Which class/race to choose? Which class is most needed in the end-game and raids etc. I'm interested in becoming a DPS btw.

And lastly, it is too late to start WoW?

    Thanks for your answears! :)

This isn't Runescape, our updates aren't bad.

Refer a friend is basically someone refering you, for 3 months after that you two will share triple experience up to level 60, and if you buy a month of membership they get one, if you get two months they get a mount

Horde and alliance arent really different, it's all server dependent, especially if you play on a pvp server. If your server is overrun with horde or alliance on a pvp server it's not really worth playing (unless you are on the side with all the people).

The class is all up to you and your playing style, and let the class dictate what race you are (assuming you want to put a characters racials to work)

And no, it's never too late to start wow. Now would be a perfect time, you've got just enough time to hit 80 and get geared (especially with RaF)

    Thanks for your response.

Any idea on which realms are more suitable for Horde and which ones for Alliance? Mostly interested in starting in a pvp realm.

And of course, the community in that realm is important:)

I know that the horde basically dominate the entire world on Blackrock, but I've heard their pve skills aren't great.
You can use http://www.warcraftrealms.com/census.php for a general idea on the population on servers.

I would suggest Kel'Thuzad US, very populated alliance PVP realm and in the easiest battlegroup so you can feel like a boss while you truck nubs.

For horde there is Blackrock, same deal as Kel'Thuzad except horde is the majority and it is in the hardest battlegroup.

Both have large communities for high end arena and raiding.

RaF=Refer A Friend. Someone gives you their e-mail address and you sign up and then your accounts get linked together. For the first 3 months, if you level together with the person that recruited you, you will gain 3x the normal XP.

You also have the benefit of summoning your friends account where ever you are and vice versa

The difference between horde and alliance is pretty much server dependent. But each race alone has their own unique ability which are called 'Racials'

As for what character you want to play, it's up to you and how your play style is. Every character will be needed for raids.

And starting WoW now is not a bad idea at all. It is really easy to get gear (as easy as it ever was) so you will be raiding in no time once you hit level 80.

And if you are into raiding and want to find the right realm for you, try looking at wowprogress.com . It will tell you how the Ally/Horde ratio on that server, and how far guilds on the server you pick are in progression.

Ideally you would wanna join a realm where your friends play D:

As for best end game class, basically it all classes are equally represnted in the end parts of the game, but if any of them are lacking it would be healer. Priests are good obviously, and resto druids can get the job done as well.
