    Earthquake in Ontario

It wasn't huge. I was laying in bed and when I started shaking, I thought I was just shivering from the cold. But in the last 10 minutes there's been like 50 facebook status updates claiming they felt it too, and I've had a few people in Toronto say they felt it as well (I'm in Oshawa).

    Earthquake in Ontario

From Winnipeg, didn't feel anything, but it's odd how there was an earthquake over there, I thought Vancouver usually has those, or has a higher chance of getting an earthquake.

    Earthquake in Ontario

I live in Michigan and I didn't feel it but areas around where I live did, they said it was a 5.0 or 5.5 level earthquake on the Richter Scale.

    Earthquake in Ontario

Hm, that is very odd. Canada NEVER has Earthquakes. Well, Ontario anyway.

Where was the Quake the most severe?

    Earthquake in Ontario

The midday quake was felt in the city of Toronto in Canada and in a number of U.S. states, including Michigan, Vermont and New York.

The USGS said the quake occurred at a depth of about 19.2 kilometres. The quake occurred at 1-41 p.m. EDT (1741 GMT).

pretty rare having a quake up there. eh?

    Earthquake in Ontario

I live in downtown of Montreal and I really felt the floor moving. They've reported serveral damages to roofs of certain houses but no one was injured. The most severe earthquake in Quebec was in 1963 with an magnitude of 6.9 on the Richter scale. Does global warming cause earthquake? No. Evrey 20 to 30 years, there's a big earthquakes period and we're currently entreing this period. Haiti is just a kind of "preview" of this period. I'm sure that there will be other earthquakes even stronger maybe in California because of San Andreas. There's almost 99% of chance that a big major severe earthquake will happen in Japan and they are just waiting for it. Let just hope that what happened to Haiti don't happens again.
