Runescape blocked? school, router filter etc.

Have any of you ever been wanting to play RuneScape at school, or some place where it's blocked? Of course there are third party servers like rsatschool.co.ukk (don't go here) but I don't trust them and I feel as if I'll be scammed.

Well I encountered something interesting while I was screwing around with the ping command. RuneScape's game applet operates under urls for each specific world, example : world20.runescape.com .

Now that url may or may not work depending on how strict your filters are. For me that url won't work... however, each runescape world has a jagex url. By pinging the world you can find out the jagex url.

For example: world20.runescape.com = snap7-bond0-4.jagex.com

This is completely a jagex website and isn't third party, but at the same time provides complete runescape without filters. You will be able to log in on runescape this way from ANY location including school, or if someone blocked runescape.com via your router.

This is how you find it out for other worlds, irrelevant but useful:

Step 1) Run Command Prompt (start -> run -> cmd)
Step 2) Type in "ping worldx.runescape.com". The x represents whichever world you want to ping. For this example I'll use world114.runescape.com
Step 3) It should say "Pinging snap5-bond0-1.jagex.com [216.115.77.73]". Do not copy the IP address (the one with numbers) since it won't load on that one because it thinks you're using a third party source.
Step 4) Copy down the snapx-bondx-x.jagex.com url and paste the url into your browser and viola Runescape!

Tl;Dr version:

Here are a few urls for you to use:

World 20 = http://snap7-bond0-4.jagex.com/
World 100 = http://snap14-bond0-5.jagex.com/
World 114 = http://snap5-bond0-1.jagex.com/

Why I am doing this:

Well I know it's frustrating for people out there to not be able to get on RuneScape and I don't want them to resort to being scammed by phishing sites. The sites I have provided are 100% official and JaGEx so you won't be scammed. Plus these websites are fully functional even under the most extreme filters. Spread the word so people aren't scammed by phishing websites.

how come when you push the home button, it takes you to jagex home instead of runescape home?

 

Damn this is actually a very useful post. It looks like you put alot of time into it, and I atleast have gotten alot out of it. I will try this at school some time with the jagex.com url

i gotta agree with the skiller anime freak STUDY ITS WORTH IT IN LONGTERM YOU MIGHT NOT LIKE IT BUT TRUST IT WILL HELP PLAY RS AS A SIDE OF FUN LIFE.

 

Looks like it will work, I will try this tomorrow at school but I don't really play RS anymore so I don't really have any use for it.

True but depends on the individuals ability to learn and such, whether or not they use school time to play RS or not they can suffer the consequence

 

In response to people saying I should be doing work at school, I agree, and I never use this at school anyways. This is simply to get around a keyword filter and I thought I should share it with you guys. The reason I've put it up isn't so that I want to nolife or play runescape at school when I should be doing work, but merely to stop people getting scammed on phishing sites.

Also the keyword runescape is blocked from urls at my house so it's very useful.

 

Wow that's pretty cool. I can't see my self ever using it because, well it's school. But about 3 years ago when all my friends played this would been really awesome for lunch (actually i don't think my school blocked things 3 years ago.. nvm.)

Interesting. My high school blocked command prompt b/c some students we're using it to bypass restrictions.

Most colleges and universities don't give a shit what you use the internet for....I know my doesn't, they just don't want you looking at offensive content in the computer labs though.

 

If you play Runescape at my school you get hurt, people don't take very kindly to it. However, very good guide. You obviously put time into it. Thank you
