99 Smithing / Crafting for 40M (Need help)

Please scroll to the bottom for one question I have about this guide, as I've not fully tested it yet


Simple guide, but helpful. I'm doing it now. It's also poorly organized or whatever, but oh well, you still get the point.

Requirements:
40 Smithing
7 Crafting
Summer's End quest completed

For this method, you will be using Goldsmithing Gauntlets (acquired from Avan after completing Family Crest) to smelt Gold Ores into Gold Bars while carrying a bracelet mould in your inventory, and then turning the bars into Gold Bracelets.

Using Goldsmithing Gauntlets, you will recieve 56.2 Smithing experience for each gold bar you craft.

Why make Gold Bracelets?

Gold bars are valued at 92 gp each in the Grand Exchange at market price. Using a method explained later on in this guide, you can sell each Gold Bracelet for 220 gp each.

The best place to do this is Edgeville. There is a furnace just a few steps away from the bank. I believe there is a requirement to use this furnace, but I'm not positive, so Google it before you take my word for it.

How fast is the experience for this method?

One trip takes two minutes and fifteen seconds, and each trip earns you 1517.4 Smithing exp plus 675 crafting exp.

3600/135 = 26.667 trips per hour.

26.667 * 1517.4 = 40,464.5

26.667 * 675 = 18,000.225

So, using this method you will gain approximately 40,000 Smithing experience and 18,000 Crafting experience per hour. 99 Crafting costs about 35M, and by that time you will have well over 25M Smithing experience. This is a very good price compared to other more common methods of training these two skills.

Anyways... I doubt a guide is really needed, but here is one anyways.

1: Buy your desired amount of Gold Ores from the Grand Exchange
2: Walk to Edgeville
3: Withdraw a bracelet mould (can be bought from the Crafting Store in Al Kharid) and a 27 gold ores
4: Smelt your 27 ores into 27 Gold Bars
5: Use a gold bar on the furnace and make 27 Gold Bracelets
6: Bank/repeat
7: Once you've finished, take your noted Jewelry to Rogue and use the bracelets on him to sell all of them for low alchemy price (220 gp each). He buys all un-enchanted jewelry for low alchemy price, up to 10,000 of a certain item.

My question for those of you who have used the Rogue to buy jewelry before: Is the 10,000 item limit daily, or just 10,000 at a time? As in, you sell 10,000, bank, sell another 10,000, etc. Thanks for the help.

I am going to use this guide to get to 99 smithing. I am mining all of the gold ores myself in LRC, currently have 13k gold ores.

Nice idea, just too bad you still lose money unless you mine your own ores (or buy bars, which cuts out on the smithing xp).

I think I'll give it a try later, see how I like it. I have a bunch of ores left over from getting 99 mining.

And yea, you could just buy the bars. However, my main motive for finding this method was finding free/cheap Smithing exp, so I just threw that in there.

So yea, if you're looking for profit and don't care about Smithing exp, doing Gold Bars > Bracelets is a great way. I'm just estimating, but I'd say around 35k crafting exp per hour doing that plus profit.

 

do you know how much 99 smithing will cost (without worrying about 99 crafting)

 

Extra Tip:
I'd say getting 25m smithing exp is useless, do 99 Smithing by this, then stop making your own gold bars, buy them, and u'd be making back the cash

nice guide! just like someone else said im doing lrc so im getting mad amounts of gold ore..

 

here's a way better method....
mine gold @ lrc (160k gp an hour/40k exp)
make cannonballs for additional gp (180k gp/20k exp an hour)
get sacred clay needles.
make d hide tops (400k exp an hour)

tadah? there are much better methods. It isn't 2003 you don't need to get your own materials, let other peoples bots do it.

 

There are multiple ways to do everything..

Sacred Clay Needles last for 43k exp each.

13,000,000/43,000 = 303 Needles you have to get

Roughly 3 needles/h at Sacred Clay, so 100 hours spent just getting Needles. Not to mention you listed slow money making methods.

 

I used to use the rogue before jagex changed it. Back then you could sell 10K at time, I've sold over 200K gold jewellery myself.
