A Baseball guide [Hitting]

Hello users of sythe

I would like to pass along some information that i have learned/used about hitting the ball in baseball.

First a little about myself​

The position i play is catcher and i am a senior in high school and i have started varsity baseball sense i was a freshman.

Now getting to hitting​

The first thing you always want to do when hitting is seeing yourself hitting the ball, get yourself in the right mindset to "see the ball, hit the ball".

Once you have focused your mind you want to get in a comfy stance that feels natural to your body, most people stand in the middle of the batters box. most people will put their back elbow up to make them have a level swing so they wont pop it up or hit it straight down. once you have developed your own swing you will see what works better for you.

Once you are set you will see the pitcher taking signs from the catcher, now once the catcher is done he will most likely set up on either inside or outside you can always take a peek to see where it is coming but make sure you still stay focused on the pitch that he is throwing.

Once the ball leaves the pitchers hand you will want to get "set" or "load"


^^ this is what one looks like. This might be over exaggerated but it works for him. Most beginning baseball players will take a smaller step straight at the pitcher so they will get their weight moving forward that will cause the ball to go farther.

Next what you want to do is once you start your swing, as you move through rotate your hips toward the pitcher so you will get your lower body involved so that you can hit the ball even farther.

The final thing you have to do is make sure you keep your eye on the ball i know as a varsity player, a lot of pitchers throw curve balls. a rule at our school is "Sit fastball react on the curve ball" simple enough keep your hands loose and drive through the ball and you will be hitting in no time! now all you have to do is remember to run to first base best of luck to everyone

Good guide mate i used to play some ball gave it up last year in favor of basketball though

 

I wouldnt recommend having your elbow up.
