    How to find your IP/Network Settings using CMD

    This is a guide to teach anyone with any windows computer find their IP/Network Settings using CMD also known as Command Prompt.

    Step One
    Open up your start menu (Located in the bottom left of your screen)

    Step Two
    Type in "Command Prompt" in the "Start Search" bar. If you are on windows XP just click run and type cmd.

    Step Three
    Vista step! Right click "command prompt" and click "Run as Administrator"

    Step Four
    Type in "ipconfig" and hit the enter key and everything you need will pop up in the CMD box.

    If you just need to find your simple ip adress just go to http://www.whatismyip.com/ and it should say your IP adress.

    Some facts:

    IP stands for Internet Protocol

    That is for windows vista, you might want to add, for windows 2000, 2003, xp, you go to start > run, type in 'cmd' to bring up command prompt.

    I think you need to type ipconfig /all. Maybe not in seven though

    but i will also list 200,2003 thanks.

    This is Vista but i'll check into it.

    ipconfig /all works on all windows pcs, even vista
