Pricecheck-thread

Hello sythe, I have seen that the "Pricecheck" thread doesn't really work, because alot of people just post their accounts and doesn't tell other people what their accounts is worth.

I think that you should open a whole sub-forum for Pricechecks, on all different things. Not only on Runescape stuff. You could post threads about WoW, IRL stuff's and, ofcourse, Runescape.

The title of the threads would be something like this:

[PC][Type of thing][Other Info]

I tried to post my accounts there many times, but I never get an answer on what it would be worth.

I have seen many people posting accounts wanting pricechecks in "Runescape General", and I understand them. Their threads just gets locked, but I understand why they do it - because they get no help in the Pricecheck thread.

There should be better rules on this, or maybe a sub-forum could be created? This would help alot of people, and also be very funny, since there is many people who like to see others runescape accounts.

True, no-one saying what accounts are worth and just posting their accounts. This needs fixed.

 

I think this is a good idea. I put up an account on the Price-check thread, and it never got answered. I bet if this was made, more people would get their questions answered.

I agree that the Price Check sticky doesn't work, but I don't really think it would be ideal for a whole sub-forum just for that.

 

I think the problem is more that no-one cares to take handle it.

 

If you say it doesnt work, why would it be bad to make a sub-forum to fix this?

 

I have never gotten a reposnse in the price check sticky, this could be a way to solve this.

It would be better if we hire our market moderators to control each price check sticky thread in each section so the thread won't die.
This probably isn't the best idea but who knows.

 

Had my thread locked the other day and was told to post it in the PC Sticky...

There's no need to hire anyone. I see what you mean, but it's not a good idea.

 

I think it should be removed. Most of the times, the people who quote how much the account is worth make up something (either for fun or to try and get a bargain by buying it) or just not answer at all. I left some price checks in there but they never got answered. Almost all of the current posts are asking for a price check, no one is answering it though, making it useless.

 

Let it stay, I mean really is this causing you any trouble?

 

The price check thread would of worked better if people honored the original post. Try to gauge the price of the account above you before you post requesting your own price check. Nobody really did this and thread just snowballed on itself.

 

Except that concept if flawed, because it either causes people to
1.Post without answering the previous price check
2.Post an inaccurate price, because they are not familiar with current prices of accounts, and cant really be bothered to come up with an accurate price.

And thus I support a sub-forum, and I think if there was a way to offer an incentives to people who give people accurate prices

 

It's your responsibility to know the price of your account. If this sub-forum were to be implemented, it would be flooded with threads and spam. Even if post count was disabled, it would probably take five to ten minutes before your thread gets kicked off to the second page.

And I said this before, we aren't obliged to calculate the value of your account. If you can't do this simple task, you're better off just starting an auction. I believe you started a price check thread earlier. Let me tell you again, if that idea failed once, what makes you think this will work? Not many people are willing to sit 24x7 calculating prices for you.

The Price Check Sticky is perfectly fine.. It's just that people don't use it right.
