    Need to Lose Weight.

    Alright, so I made a new Sythe account so that I could post here without anyone knowing as I am that Embarrassed about my weight. I'm currently 15 years of age. 5 foot 9 inches and I weigh about 260lbs. My Doctor has told me that I really need to lose weight so I have began running about an hour and a half each day. It mostly started around 5th Grade, I just started getting lazy then chunked up, got lazier, chunked up more. Then around 7th grade my Grandfather died who was basically my dad, I was extremely depressed and put on an additional 40lbs around that time. Its currently June 19th 2010 as I am writing this. I want to lose as much weight as I can by August 8th when school starts when I will continue to lose more weight Hopefully.

    So far i have cut out all Junk foods and Sodas. I've only been drinking water and Crystal Light (0 Calories.)

    So what I'm getting at is does anyone have any advice for me? Or care to share how they lost weight? (You can PM if you don't feel like replying with it, I understand.)

    Im kinda fat and im 5'9 and 190.
    Just dont eat junk, geta regualr schedule (good sleeping habits)
    run everyday.
    do sit-ups, push ups, ect.

    Need to Lose Weight.

    I've had a very high metabolism throughout my life. Recently last year I was homeschooled for about 6 months. I got very lazy during that part of the year and I gained 30 pounds I was only 120, 5'3 and the time so my weight increased 20%. When I came to school in january this year I felt real embarassed and had to lose the weight. I picked up in swimming, swimming is real nice because you use every part of your body, thus working out your whole body instead of just your legs like running. It took me about a month to work it all off and here I am now weighing 150 pounds and 5'7.

    Yeah, I usually live in Florida where i have access to a pool daily but I'm visiting family and lets just say... It's not a healthy habitat.

    Aye, I run everyday and I've begun doing Situps right before my daily shower in the bathroom as i can stick my feet under the sink area as a, Spotter? i guess the word would be.

    The only recommendations I have are eating plenty of fibre and fruit. Cut down protein to the bare minimum. Get plenty of exercise, but mix up your exercise: don't just stick to running because you'll get bored. Try swimming, try joining a gym. You might think joining a gym is gonna be embarassing but you just have to remember that most people are there for the same reason as you, which is to lose weight. Personally, I used to be a pretty porky kid... I was ridiculously overweight for my age and I took up ice skating. It was a challenge at first but I really got passionate about it and ended up losing a lot of weight. It's all about just finding something you enjoy.

    If possible, try this diet:

    Bowl of whole grain cereal with no sugar and minimal amounts of skimmed milk for breakfast
    Salad with lettuce, onion, tomatos, cucumber, celery, herbs (just use any herbs you like the taste of. I don't recommend parsley: far too bitter) and just throw on a few chunks of any meat you fancy. I usually use chicken or pork.
    For dinner, just eat a bowl of whole grain cereal again. Sounds dull, but my god it works if you wanna lose weight fast.

    If you get a little hungry throughout the day, try eating some crackers with low cholesterol spread on or a piece of fruit. The good thing about this diet is that it has plenty of carbohydrates to give you energy (only truly beneficial if you intend to exercise and not give the carbs a chance to turn in to fat).

    I sincerely hope this helps, as I really hate to see people in the same position that I was when I was younger. Just remember: the longer you put off weight loss, the harder it's going to be to shift the pounds when you really need to.

    It's easy enough for other people to give you a meal structure consisting of wood and a banana, but can you carry on eating the same tasteless shit over and over again?

    Just remember that you don't need the junk that's got you in this position.

    Its ok to eat junky shit as long as it is in moderation
    you can still lose weight while eating the junk you like
    consider this: 3000 calories worth of salad will make you fatter than 1500 calories of pure lard
    although 3000 calories of salad is a whole lot more filling than 1500 calories of pure lard, it gets the point across
    eat what you like just make sure that you have a low calorie consumption by the end of the day (aim for 2000 for healthy weight loss, and 1500 for extremely fast weight loss) and you won't even have to work out that much, just mild cardio once a week and resistance training to build muscle and help you burn fat faster.

    The easiest way to lose weight fast, and effectively is detoxing. I've personally detoxed completely. I've been a vegetarian for five years.

    Okay. All you honestly need to do, is NOT drink soda, or any other unhealthy beverages.

    A great way to lose weight, but sometimes may be unhealthy is not eating breakfast or lunch. And eating a pretty nice dinner. What I personally did back then, before I went vegetarian was not eat breakfast or lunch, and eat a small salad and a fruit for dinner. I lost a TON of weight. Not a lie, but around 20 pounds in a month and a half. It's because I basically starved myself. It's not persay healthy, but, it's pretty effective. It's not healthy, but after you've lost a good amount, you should eat a lot of protein and work out more

    Drink a ton of water. And running isn't going help you unless you are doing a few core body workouts to go along with it. Do around 25 situps in the morning, and 25 before you sleep. Do 2 sets of planks in the morning, and the night. Also, 30 pushups and situps in the morning. Or instead of doing those before bed, do your daily running, and then do them as you will have your heart beating.

    Stay away from diet pills and shit. Just detox naturally. Don't eat fattening foods with oil in them. Staying vegetarian made me not have acne whatsoever during puberty. Because, natural fruits and vegetables don't have oils.

    Eat fruit and vegetables most of your time. So yeah. Hopefully this helped out.

    A lot of people do it until they lose a huge chunk of weight, and then start eating a lot food with protein to help build muscles.

    Along with cardio, start lifting weights. You don't have to go intense, start off endurance training (12+ reps/set). Workout out by lifting weights is a very good way to lose fat; you speed up the process because not only are you losing fat, but some of that fat will turn into muscle.

    Make sure you still eat plenty. A bad thing to do would be to dramatically decrease the intake of your food; this will eventually lead to a mental collapse and you will be back where you started. Study what a proper nutrition is. You need to eat lots if your going to be doing a lot of cardio/workout out. If you don't eat enough you will just collapse and you won't feel like continuing, you will just get discouraged.

    It's hard to do but you cant stop in the middle of a diet, because it will make it harder to start back again.

    Well buddy I'm an athlete so my advice would be most desirable for you.

    You seem like your on the right track, but the key is motivation, set yourself some goals not necessary weight goals as those can be pretty disappointing. What I mean is something like run 3 miles each day? something realistic! don't think your goner be thin in no time but as your fitness levels improve then you can start add more miles possibly to 5 miles a day./ then 8 then so on!

    Just don't push yourself to much in these early stages and you will soon get fed up and give up!

    EDIT: BTW stay away from carbohydrates like some of these no nothings have suggested, you will only be going back to stage 1!
    Keep a healthy diet don't eat carbohydrates after 2pm! and you should be fine!

    My advice, go to a Gym and seek a Personal Trainer. Have a Nutritious diet and keep track of how many calories you eat. You can use a food journal to write down what you eat and drink each day, be as accurate as possible. Drinking plenty of water Is a good start. What's more, if you're chronically dehydrated, your body will retain water in unflattering places, so if you make sure to get plenty of fluids you can start visibly trimming down in as little as a day. Remember, the more you exercise, the more water you'll need.

    Whatever you do, do not starve yourself to lose weight as others have suggested. Every time you eat, your body will store it as fat because it doesn't know when you're going to feed it again. Your body needs calories to function correctly. The best thing is to eat six small meals a day, as any personal trainer will tell you. This keeps your metabolism active and your body will naturally burn fat from this alone. Add in some cardio and you'll be dropping the weight like dead flies.
