Is Anorexia worse than drugs?

Just been wondering what are your thoughts!

No dumb inputs please as this may be sensitive to some people who have it!

 

Not really in the sense of health.

Drugs are also a vast generalization.

However, the psychological side of anorexia is perhaps worse than drugs, but again drugs can be anywhere from marijuana or crack.

 

Replace anorexia with World of Warcraft, and then I think we've got a more prevalent issue to consider.

 

I think you're way off, olweasel.

Just because a large population excessively uses things like world of warcraft, television, etc doesn't necessarily mean it's horrible for your health and psychological well - being.

 

What kind of drugs?

Weed? Then Anorexia is way worse.
Crack / Heroin? equal. They both cause health problems sometimes even death as a result. Both can come back (Addiction to drugs is lifetime so is Anorexia)

 

I'm talking about general drugs obviously not paracetamol and crap but stuff like A,B,C class ilegal drugs.

They both have a similarity I can't explain but I wanted to know your input into this.

 

No. Because, anorexia can be cured easilly. And drugs will really mess you up.

 

There are many people out there who manage very successful lives and use daily, they just like to remain silent.

OT: You can't compare the two with such a lack of definition, the only way you can really get a decent answer is to ask someone who has had anorexia and substance abuse issues, otherwise all we can do is guess.

 

drugs are worse IMO. Drugs get you really addicted and you can not stop, and will eventually cause more pain in your life then that of Anorexia, still both slow deaths. But hey on the subject of death, we all die so live life however you want to before you do.

 

Yes Anorexia is worse, just because it's all because of the Media who messes with the self image of people.. Drugs is no problem if you keep it at weed once in a month or so...

 

Depends how you died from the drug abuse, if it was an overdose then you'd be too doped up to realise what's going on. When my friend OD'd he said he couldn't remember anything, just nodding out.

 

I would say anorexia affects you more mentally it's like a mental illness in some way because you mind alters what you see in yourself.

 

I think they are closely tied - anorexia is a bit higher, though.

Those who are addicted to drugs are (most likely) pressured into it by friends, but become addicted through their habitual use of the drug.

Individuals with anorexia are suffering from a mental problem, such as OCD or something of that nature. Their compulsive obsession with their weight is causing the problem; that tied with peer pressure can lead one to make drastic diet changes.

If you mean purely weight wise, and thats it, then drugs arent worse as you can discontinue use. Errrr the issue is here that these subkects aremt really comlparable( sp sory on phone )

I think he doesnt realize that anorexia is a severe psychological probelm that stems from other psychological probs as well

I believe so, anorexia is far more self-destructive than most drugs.
