Non-staff verifiers.

This is ridiculous, how are they aloud to be doing mod jobs?

Seems as though there's been a U-turn on the 'we won't let users have mod powers' speech.

 

Difference is, we don't have any actual mod powers. We're just helping them out. Tell me, what powers have we got? We spend our time verifying the guides. What is our reward? Use of the guide. That is it. We don't have any powers of editing, deleting, infracting.

 

Again, there is little point, you cant edit the title so you have to PM a staff member.

Seems very pointless to me and just a way for you to get your greedy little hands on free guides.

 

We spend TIME. Our valuable time, verifying your guides. Should we not have a small reward? We get the guides and WE ARE NOT ALLOW TO LEAK/RESELL THEM. It's for our private use.

Far as I'm aware UE/OMM isn't exclusive and anyone can start the application process.

This is what I mean, your getting free guides, for being a mods friend/OMM.

You can't just say "sign me up" and expect to get on the team. All of us, have contributed to the site in a lot of ways. Tell me, what have you contributed? Besides this asinine thread? You just joined this month.

Learn what you're talking about. We don't let anyone be OMM/UE. You have to pass a very rigorous application. OMM is harder than UE by a LOT.

Fair enough, you are taking your time out to verify these guides but the selection process is pretty biased in my eyes.

Ok so I take it there's an application to this such as there is to OMM/UE.

I'm not saying UE/OMM isn't hard to get, I am just a new member confused to as why you are doing a moderators job.

Yes there is an application.

It isn't a moderators job. We're helping them verify guides. A mod's job is editing/locking/deleting/infracting/banning. Let me put it to you this way. The staff require that members get their guide verified. So this is a must.
And since there isn't enough staff active in RS to verify the guides, we've been selected to give them a helping hand.

In fact sir, you'll find that guides are not required to be verified. If I am mistaken please link me to a piece of official text that states otherwise.

 

They are verifying guides so people like you don't buy shitty guides and all you can do is come here and abuse them?

 

Umad HGE? Honestly giving one free copy of a guide to someone who is trusted and picked by staff isn't a big deal at all.

In fact, it just sounds like you're a juvenile who is mad that a few people get free guides for verifying them, but this will cut out a lot of scam guides that are either well known or just useless and not working.

This is a good choice to have non-staff to verify guides, as most staff are very busy doing other staff-like things

 

That is said in reference to suggestion threads which push for such action.

A moderator's job is to moderate the forum, not to verify guides. There are a good number of mods (including myself) who do not verify guides. The fact that some mods may verify guides doesn't mean that non-staff should be excluded from doing so.

I can't change thread titles in the market either, nor can Sindre or Rawr (both on the verifiers list) as they don't have perms. in the market, but I doubt you would attempt to use this as proof that only market mods should have the ability to verify guides.

 

How's it fair on the rest of the community, how can they get a chance to help like this?
