Who wants to play the trust game :P

Any remember from a couple years ago, the "trust game".


For all the noobs it went sort of like this.


A person says something like...

Giving 10 m away free quitting rs @@@@@@

People follow, and they go to a remote location and the person giving 10m away says the person who wins the trust game gets the money.

To do the trust game properly you give an item to the person, and the person gives you back...gaining "trust". The person who gives the most expensive item wins. And eventually a noob gives something expensive and then the person who says giving 10m away logs out stealing that item rather than returning it to that owner.

Hahhahaha yeah... Almost as good as the old hey wait?! That's a noted rock hammer!!!! Lol got me 2 times :/ but this one was way more profitable.

 

ahaha yes!! lol do you remember when people would sell obby capes for like dscims and be like hold on and act like they bank and give a red cape noted
they would be so excited they would accept

 

I got scammed by this one time but for only like 100k, i believe that was back in 2006 though, either way yeah i remember it

 

To maximize chance of a better steal you would have a friend who would act totally oblivious and pretend hes part of the participating audience. He would speed the process up by offering items of greater, and greater value.

Yes, unfortunately i was at first- a victim back in my adolescent years... only ironically becoming one of these con artists myself for a time. I actually raked in discontinued items (though santa's were only a few mil at the time) very often and most of my wealth was accumulated this way leading up to my first phat.

 

That's just a big scam. I'm so glad I was never unfortunate to get scammed that way.
It'd be cool to play again lol. But now there's the trade limit

 

Of course it was a scam.. no one suggested otherwise because it is so blatantly obvious.

 

hahah I used to do this all the time, I used to accept Multiple trusts before I logged =) ..
For instance...

Accept Highest Trust Trade...

Without saying anything trade the second highest....

etc.. until I got as much as I can...

and LOGGED =)

haha I always got AT LEAST 2 people per trust game. hehe

 

or the spinach roll trick in world 2 or 26 cammy bank have one person downstairs saying buying spinach roll 4m and have another person tradin people with whips offering a spinach roll

 

Oh and the best f2p one was

Omg r scim for 20k!

OMG YES I GOT THE BEST DE....shit it's a noted iron scim.

And street price for r scim back then was 25-30k...finding a legit rune scim for 20k was almost impossible.

 

Or the muddy key trick.

Buying muddy key 300k (Your friend will say this)

Selling muddy key 350k no noobs (you will say this)

 

I only use the 100k to 10k trick to scam and 1mil to 10007 trick...reply if u think this trick is better than above mentioned...

 

^^ no the spinach roll worked the best that or taking the zerker ring for whips and/or FAKE teaching people how to dupe cash

 

An even older trick... armour trimming.

The good old trust game- It was always funniest when a moderator would follow along, not saying anything, until the user tried to start the scam.

Oh. God. I almost fell for that, when it was first introduced in Runescape; Luckily, though, I wasn't a dumbass and asked around if it was possible. Everyone I met said they weren't certain, but didn't think it was possible, so I did not lose my armor (Keep in mind, this is before the scam gained popularity- It was in its very early stages).

 

I fell for this once, I was clever enough never to do it again though. >.<
It wasn't much of a loss, I don't think, perhaps 50k.

Fell for this too, twice, somehow.

 

Who remembers "Teaching how to dupe!!" then they take you to the middle of no where and say "drop you're items and press alt + f4.

 

I fell into that trap once, when I was very young. I lost full Guthix. Such a sad day in my Runescape history.
