    World Cup - N. Korea?

I believe that certain countries should not be allowed to participate in the world cup especially N. Korea. They are a huge human rights violator and I think they shouldn't be allowed. not allowing them might not make a large difference but it would kinda make them rethink a few things. I aslo realize that most people there arnt bad and that it isnt there fault for living there and not being able to leave but I think they benefits outweigh the damages.

I also dont mean to sound like a pro redneck conservative who drives a 12MPG truck and has a shotgun in his back seat (No offense to them)

So because their leader is a total psycho the people that live in that country should pay for it?

USA are playing and they violated human rights, Guantanamo Bay. Also most countries do things that aren't reported and that we don't know about.

They're probably nuking Brazil first hehe :D.

Either way, just cause they have a dictator doesn't mean that they are all bad. Is this even a serious fucking question?

edit: America is a nice human rights abuser too. Remember the NATIVE americans?

To disallow any country is discrimination. And if I'm not mistake it is a WORLD cup, that includes all nations. They won't be shot as the country is in the dark, no coverage is allowed. Even if they lose he could still tell everyone that they won, and no-one would be any the wiser.

I also heard that :p And to be honest, it wouldn't surprise me. Better to hire people than let people out of the dictatorship I suppose, Kim Jong doesn't want an uprising.

Don't bring Guantanamo Bay into this. Are president is an idiot for shutting it down. Technically it isn't violating any of are laws. Since it isn't on American soil.

Are you stupid? It was the European countries that settled in America, took their land, and enslaved them. Were doing the best we can to pay them back for their loses. I don't see any European countries doing anything about it.

China is also a human rights violator, yet they hosted the Olympics.

This thread is about human rights violators, not being on American soil is irrelevant, American orders and American soldiers were the perpetrators.

Anyway, there is no reason why North Korea shouldn't be in the World Cup. There are countless countries in the tournament who have violated people's 'human rights'.

If we keep combining politics and religion in every thing the human race participate in, our world will have no fun. This is one of the only competitions where every country (who qualify) can combine and actually have a friendly competition. Wars in Africa are ceased when the World Cup is on, grudges are forgotten, it is a beautiful thing.

Why ruin it by banning teams?

Not one country is innocent of human rights violation.

They were some of the most deadliest people in the world. They deserved to be there, after they were let out. They rejoined there terrorist organizations, and went straight back to killing people. So are you saying "O, we shouldn't hurt the poor terrorist."

I am well aware that a lot of countries are human rights violators, look at the countries who still stone people to death, it's barbaric. And as for not hurting terrorists, I say yes, if they're hurt surely it would spawn more hatred? You catch more flies with honey.

I'm not quite understanding what you mean by spawning hatred. The reason why they were held in Guantanamo Bay was to get information out of them. Such as the 9/11 terrorist attack. We wouldn't be able to get information out of them if they were held in the USA. At a point there is a trade off. The movie "Unthinkable" that came out recently is a perfect example of a terrorist trade off.

Well, if I were a terrorist and my terrorist friends knew I was being beaten and humiliated in a prison, hatred for Americans would increase would it not? Then if I were to be released, I would want some sort of retribution on those who beat me and water boarded me. There are various methods other than torture to acquire information, and considering these people have no problem dying for their cause, torture wouldn't produce much information.

Well I don't think they'll win so I have nothing against them. (Im with Germany.) Maybe they don't like human rights, but if they play decent I think they should let them play.

You do realise where te world cup is being held right?

South Africa was a segregated state, if your logic follows they shouldn't be aloud to host/compete.

A large majority of the terrorist organization had no idea if their leaders were held in Guantanamo Bay. They do now since they've been let out.

They wouldn't be able to get retribution if they weren't released in the first place.

Yes, some won't crack, but there are some who will. There is also a difference between dieing, and dieing from torture.
