How to Jailbreak an iPod Touch 1G/2G on 3.1.3 Firmware Using Windows.

Intro.​

Hello, this guide will be teaching you on how to Jailbreak an iPod Touch Generation 3.1.3. This is the current Generation firmware that iTouch's come with if you bought yours today from Walmart, Best Buy etc.​

Step 1.​

First what you will need of course is an iPod Touch and a computer. But you cannot buy a Brand New 3G Model, as because they have not found a way to jailbreak it yet. Make sure you are on the 3.1.3 Firmware!​

Step 2. ​

If you haven't already, you're going to install the newest version of iTunes onto your computer (if you have it already great).​

Step 3.​

You are going to download the actual Jailbreaking program. There are many of these, but the top 2 programs I recommend myself and I'm sure alot of other people would are Redsn0w and QuickPwn. QuickPwn and Redsn0w were actually developed by the iPhone Dev. Team believe it or not.​

Step 4: ​

You have to download the Itouch firmware 3.1.2, this is because you need to update to firmware 3.1.3 directly from your Itunes and Itouch on your computer.​

(If you google it, im sure you can find a safe download link.)​

Step 5: ​

Run your Jailbreaking program.​

Step 6: ​

Find your browse button, and get the file Firmware 3.1.2 that you had downloaded previously before.​

Step 7: ​

Once you get the Firmware file, Click Next and you will be asked for a verification of your firmware and click 'next' again. It will start injecting the Firmware into Redsn0w.​

Step 8: ​

It will take you into a screen asking you if you want to install Cydia, Make sure that is CHECKED. There are 4 Options at the bottom:

-Verbose Boot
-Recovery Boot Logo
-Custom Boot Logo
-Already Pwned.

Already Pwned is referring to if you are already Jailbroken, so Do not check that, and the other 3 do not matter.

Step 9: ​

Turn off your Itouch completely, but leave it in your computer.​

Step 10: ​

You will need to go into DFU mode, there are instructions on how to do this on the next page. If you need me to explain it to you I can also do so.​

Final Result: ​

As you are holding the Home button, The iPod will start Jailbreaking.​

An okay guide but wouldn't hurt to add more pictures, and just letting you know that there are most likely many guides out there like this and that jail-breaking an ipod (using Spirit) is very, very straight forward.
