    Dealing with Anxiety

For as long as I can remember I have always been anxious even when there is nothing to worry about. You know that butterfly feeling you get in your stomach when you have to do something you don't want to? I have that feeling constantly and it is a huge distraction in my life. Does anyone know of any remedies, exercises, anything at all that can halt or even decrease the anxiety? Does anyone else feel like this?

    Dealing with Anxiety

Hmm you could try abstract methods of dealing with your anxiety.

For example, i'd recommend maybe getting to what actually makes you feel this way.

If else, then definitely contact a psychologist. you'd be surprised how well they can assist you.

I have no idea what causes it though, it is a constant feeling. It's not triggered by any given thing. I do not want to see a psychologist.

    Dealing with Anxiety

I used to see a psychologist when i was 14. He explained to me how you can have general anxiety and how you can have anxiety triggered by certain events or people.

I'm not sure how anyone would be able to help you in this. You can self medicate, or you can see a psychologist.

What are your reasons for not wanting to go see one? Anxiety problems that go un touched for years can really and honestly develop into more serious psychological issues.

It wouldn't be hard for a psychologist to help you. You might even get some free downers or something, who knows?

    Dealing with Anxiety

I have anxiety, and am on medication although it doesn't help a ton, I would overthink a situation and determine mostly negative outcomes that could happen. Although I finally got into the mindset that people can think what they want about me, and thats their choice. After that I started to make new friends, because I become less asocial

    Dealing with Anxiety

Hmm having my dog lick my legs on my boat helps a lot.

    Anything relaxing tbh will help.

    Dealing with Anxiety

Try doing things that relax you, such as aerobics/yoga or swimming. Anything that is stress free and won't make you think much.

    Dealing with Anxiety

If it's happening constantly as you say, you should really see professional help. I have been dealing with anxiety (social) for as long as I can remember. Today I saw a doctor and got put on medication for the first time. I have yet to see any results, but the doctor explained it to me pretty well. I need to be on these pills for 6 months and the results should become permanent.

There are other types of pills (stronger) that are used to treat severe depression and anxiety and those are the ones that can become addictive. Talk to your doctor to find out the best thing to do for your specific case. I have been putting it off for months, and today I finally caved. Hopefully this will result in a better quality of life for me.

The doctor also said if the pills aren't helping after a month that I should see a psychiatrist and start CBT (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy) to help me cope.

    Good luck. :p

    Dealing with Anxiety

    + rep, great response.

I believe I know how you feel, and for me it's a cause of my ADHD. I don't know about you but I will give you advice from my perspective. I take these pills and they help out for my anxiety, they are like legal amphetamine salts. Kids with ADHD use them and they honestly can turn your life around. Another thing I've noticed that's really helped my life out is 5htp. After 2 weeks of taking 5htp I feel way happier. It contains Tryptophan (you can also get a good amount of this from foods such as turkey) which is the amino acid that get's converted into serotonin and melatonin. Serotonin is the drug in your brain that makes you happy, so you can see how it would help there.

But it would probably be better to just see a physician and get them to give you medication or vitamins that would help with your case personally.

    Dealing with Anxiety

I don't want to seem like some sort of retard who thinks weed cures all, but it'll probably eliminate anxiety for awhile. I have it a lot less now.

    Dealing with Anxiety

I spent a whole summer with the same problem, it was constant too. I was having panic attacks with it. It seemed to just go away. You should seriously try some meds juven. I know you dont want to but it will reall help.

    Dealing with Anxiety

I self medicate this feeling, and it's working so far. I wouldn't recommend it, because it's very expensive.
