Yh, why can't the MM just witness the fight?
I'd say it's much simpler..

 

I Agree, this would bring a whole new aspect to RS cheating.

 

I really like this idea, would increase spending in the markets and would be a hell of a lot of fun. ^_^

I don't think the duels should take place at the actual arena, it would leave a big gap in the security of the trade since the middle man couldn't see the trade. I think they should take place in a pvp or bounty world somewhere private, or we could have a private staking world just for sythe members doing this type of staking, so 2 middle men could contently be in the arena observing other fights upon request. The only problem with this is you need 2 middle men to observe other fights.

 

Can't be in like a pvp world etc. Because duels you plan on making will have rules. Rules can't be broken in duel arena. They can be altered in pvp.

My suggestion is the middle man MM'ing the trade tell each player a number to stake. Say 11 gp. So in the winning screen you will see victor and amount won which would be 11gp.

Yes of course it's a good idea. And although I'm not an OMM, I would be more than willing to offer MMing for this free of charge.

 

Guys, MM can observe fights above on the deck by duel arena.. Even if it's not a good view.
If this doesn't work for the people, the MM's can challenge each-other and sit inside the arena watching the fight.

 

Oooo, this staking method would come in handle for future MMs. Easier for them to get like a $200+ mm trade.

No movement would have to be put on so they can't run into a position you couldn't see them at if there is such a position. And if they get auto- placed a position you couldn't see them at then that's another problem.

Yeh, but if a mm is watching he will see if the other player breaks the rules, but it might be hard seeing things like gloves being equipped, so i guess disregard that idea, it was pretty stupid in the first place.>_<

Uhm, well the MM could challenge a friend or someone to get a better view of the duel. So that would allow the two people fighting each other to have the option of movement.

Considering that the MM wouldnt want to have their time wasted, I would say just watch the duel from above. I would not be willing to spend a crap ton of extra time listening while 2 people figure out the terms of their stake etc.

 

This issue is so easy to solve.
Have them record the fight via Hypercam.

 

Ok awesome idea. I was wondering about PayPal cash too that MM/OMM could hold. For example:
$5.00 Stake
Winner takes $9.00
MM gets $1.00 for services.

In addition in-game like santa/santa stake the OMM could charge 1M junk trade or something along those lines.

 

Some of the MM's already made the case of why NOT to use Paypal, seeing as it would be easy to charge-back the money (leaving the MM out of money or getting their paypal limited)

 

Expanding even further, the duel under the supervision of the MM can lead to even more complex stakes..
Such as 2 people staking for pins/accounts/verification keys/possibly even stuff for other games like Habbo stuff...

 

The MM wouldn't necessarily have to watch the fight, there is a scoreboard at the duel arena which the MM could go to, to verify who won the duel.
