Do You Have "Rights" After your Dead?

Topic is an expansion off my other topic.


I want to see some reasons why you think dead people have rights or why they do not.

In regards to not only organs, but what happens to them etc....

 

They should write that in their will, what happens to them.

 

You really have no rights unless you write a will simple.

 

A corpse has the right to have others obey his or her wishes within reason as recorded in the corpse's will. A corpse also has the right to rest in peace unless the corpse is needed for criminal investigation or in need of relocation for future respects to be paid.

 

Well, we do retain certain rights. For example, if you are buried with say a gold bar, and it is not disclosed in your will, a family member is not able to dig you up and take your property.
Technically, that is still your property.

 

In a way dead people talk apparently. I know a person's will speaks for them, but some people claim to have seen ghosts, but I do not really believe in those. I guess I am dense.

 

Those people who claim to be in touch with the dead are complete fucking fakes. It's a disgusting thing to make a career out of.

Either way, when you die, you lose your rights as you are no longer considered an inhabitant. To the person who made the "buried with a gold bar" reference, that would not be illegal for the reason that it's "their" gold bar, it isn't. It would be illegal because grave digging is a crime.

 

When you die, your body becomes a recourse, you no longer are inhabited by whatever it is that makes you human, your body is an empty shell and nature can do as it pleases with it. Other animals may feed on it, as we would do them. It may decay and become what we all consider resources, such as coal.
After death, your body has no rights as you no longer inhabit it.

 

True. I suppose that natural human rights are lost upon death, and the only true "rights" you have are a right to a burial (not necessarily a proper one, though) and the rights to any possessions you may have stated in a legal will belong to you and you alone.

Death rights are based upon items. See how possessive we have become?

 

They should have the rights of how they're body is disposed of. Some religion like Islam don't permit organ donating, or cremations. Some faiths like Sikhism, and Buddhism require the corpse to be cremated. So I think that a person has the right not only to choose how they're body is purged, but to whom their possessions are bequeathed down to.

 

Your will is your last rights. List anything you want in there (if legal of course and it will have to stay like that) If you want yourself to be burried with your say... Gold necklace on. NO ONE has the right to dig you back up for it UNLESS you are needed for an investigation.

 

The have no rights as you are no longer a being, you merely have wishes laid down in your will which your family are legally bound in following.

 

I guess that seeing as you no longer exist, you are just a memory, you don't retain your human rights. You can't really be fully human without being alive. I think that your will is the only kind of right that can carry through beyond your death.

This topic really doesn't make any sense. How can you choose your future and choices, if you don't have a future. Your being has passed on, and so has your rights.

 

I think he means like, should you be able to just lay in piece or is it fine for people to bury you back up and move you. Shit like that.

I think that you do have rights after death. That's why we have wills, otherwise we could just take dead peoples houses for free because "They no longer inhabit it as their body is just an empty shell." I believe that we all have rights and never lose them to the day we are forgotten. Let it be said that I find this subject nothing to do with God or Religion.
