I do enjoy playing a game at the time. But being high level at Runescape requires A LOT of time and the process of getting there is very repetive.

That's why I choose to bot: it costs no time and I can actually go out while levelling my Runescape account.

The only thing I say botting has damaged is Yew logs and bow strings/flax. I remember when I used to make yew longs legit and alch them to make profit. Doesn't happen anymore because they are so heavily botted.

    1. This isn't really true..

Hunter, if bots didn't hunt red chins, the prise would rise, yeah?
People would then start to find more cash efficient ways of training range..
Causing either the price to fall, or make red chins unsellable..

      Making hunter worthless.

Without bots the economy would be ruined. Bots supply the demand.

it helps the runescape economy. If there wasnt wc botters, the prices would go into hyper-inflation

The game is designed to be played by human beings. The actual purpose of the game is to be played by humans, then why use bots end of?

To enjoy the level they require/want to achieve, individuals work hard for it. You don't see, for example, many 99 miners out there. Thats because it's one of the most boring and repeatitive skill ingame. For this reason, mining is one of the most respected skill capes even in this era of the game. If you bot mining, it IS unfair to all those 99 miners out there who genuinely worked hard to get their cape. Its almost as if saying, haha you wasted your time getting 99 mining.

Arguable. What you are trying to emphasize is merely your opinion of what you think is the right type of economy. With botters, the prices go up ANYWAY because they become richer and have money to buy items like whips/furies etc. The more the average disposable income increases, the more inflation starts to occur. Prices of items like yews etc. have gone up over the past 2 years if you look at the long term graphs. The only difference is that items like yews and pure ess are very very common items. Otherwise, you would see a massive rise in their prices aswell.

i bot alot but botters ruin the economy. ok so they lower prices of goods but then it makes it harder for legit players to make money. you cant make real money to compete with the extremely high prices of items nowadays with wcing or fishing. k so if there were no botters doin red chins, that means more money for legit players and it helps them. argue with me all u want, the only reason i resorted to botting cuz i hate grinding. and money is so worthless nowadays. ALSO, take a look at rcing, nats are so fucking cheap and pure ess is so expensive BECAUSE of botters. 91 rc is just barely 500k an hour now.about same money as green drags which should not be the case. caused by the botters

Not true. I make 1.3 mil/hr making double nats legit, more if I make deaths. I've never botted rc, partly because the rc bots tend to be inefficient, but botters do keep down the price of pure ess.

I would say when it comes to ruining fun for other players it would come down to the definition each player has for "fun".

If your fun is making money to buy something like armour then what are you truly buying the item for? To have to wear/use to kill monsters which in this sense then botters have no effect on you plus why not bot to get the tedious tasks out of the way to GET that item that you really want?

If you're definition of fun is your enjoyment of a certain skill (my friend likes fishing so we will use fishing) then it doesn't matter if people bot it or not because botters aren't gonna interfere with how you fish/where you fish.

And as a side note, I don't remember who said that botting kills the economy but, Are you serious? This economy wouldn't be where it is if it wasn't for botters. Who the heck do you think goes out and gets all those tuna potatoes for you to be able to pk, or those ores for you to smith, or even those THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of runes for you to be able to stun or alch your way to 99 mage? The botters, that's who...

    1. I have to somewhat agree with this statement, it ruins the game for a select few although a large portion are not affected/benefited from bots

I don't think botting ruins the economy - if anything, it makes it better. Everybody in RuneScape is high leveled now with skills being as easy as they are to train. Nobody wants to slave away fishing shark and cutting yew logs when they can go to godwars and get a random hilt for loads more. Examples: Look at stuff like Saradomin Brews, Sharks, just about everything has risen drastically since 06 due to a lack of bots supplying them.

Botting for me is this: Bot for at least 2m a night or so, use that cash to do fun stuff/support buying the random stuff that chips away your cash stack.

Well i have been legit since i began playing in 2002, but i have no problem with botters..

Think it gives them an unfair advantage? no it doesn't.. anyone can bot. You can also have that advantage.. at the risk of being banned.
Most people, like myself.. choose not to take that risk

But all botters get banned eventually.. i'm yet to see a max stat bot. (that i'm aware of)

Botting is awesome and i used to do it alot on many of my accounts. Though it brings benefits for individuals and certain other groups of people we cant deny that botting is not good or will not benefit other players in the runescape community. Its like saying evolution is false.

Botting obviously makes it unfair to other legit players and it is in the interest of Jagex to make the game fair. I reckon botting is as good as playing on a private server.
