How to get new MW2 Maps free [PS3]

Welcome to Chriscross23's guide to getting every single new Map Pack for free. Sadly I only have Mw2 for the PS3 so I have no clue how this works for the Xbox360. First to start it off there are a few requirements.

A friend who trusts you
That friend having bought the map packs

First things first, you must have a friend who has already bought the map packs. Once you find someone who has bought them ask if you can download the map packs from them. Because the map packs work for the SYSTEM and not the account you can have 1 person purchase the map packs for as many Ps3's as he wants. First you need to sign create a new user on your Ps3 and then sign into your friends PSN account. Once sign in go to the playstation store and look at the top right corner for something that says "View Downloads",
After you have located this click the view download button. It should bring you to a list of all your friends previous downloads (I can not find a picture for this sorry). After you have found the list of their downloads look for one that says "Mw2 Stimulus Map pack" and hit download. Once it is downloading all you have to do now is sit and wait for it to finish downloading. Once it has finished you can sign back into your other User on your Ps3 then sign back into your PSN account and you will have all the new maps.

I hope my guide helped save you a few bucks. Sorry for the lack of pictures as I can not take pictures of my own PS3 screen and Google really lacks pictures for this.

 

This works for the XBOX 360 as well. The purchases are linked via account and are not limited to the amount of systems that you can have it on. If your friend has the maps downloaded already, recover his/her gamertag onto your account and download the maps again directly from the Game Marketplace

This works for sure. I recover my profile onto two separate XBOX 360s every week. If I have something that I already bought, I just download it again at no charge.
