Are you racist?

If so towards which ethnic groups and why?

 

I would love to say that I am not racist, but whenever I go to the airport and see a middle eastern I always tense up. I think every middle eastern carries a clicker (detonator). Just always how I have been.

 

The real question is... Who isn't a racist? I'm just racist towards people who piss me off.

Of course not. Racism is pathetic. Some of us come from different places, but we're still humans.

 

I'm stereotypical in some situations, but I'd never discriminate against someone for their race/who they are. Judgmental, maybe. Racist? No.

Also, Bordmb, that's not racism, it's stereotyping. You're grouping the entire middle eastern group as terrorists. That's like associating African Americans with watermelon.

 

I do not hate people just for a hereditary trait that they received.
I am more "classist" towards certain groups within races.
For example, I hate mariachi people and people that listen to that music. However, I do not hate all mexicans.

I hate black gangsters, but I do not hate all black people just for the actions of certain people.

Unfortunately, it seems that there are sub-groups for each and ever race. It isn't us being racist, it's the human mind; we, as humans, find a need to put certain things in certain categories and add or subtract from those categories as we see fit. We don't realize it, but our mind is extremely organized that way. Because of the way our mind is structured, there are naturally races, groups of races, and sub-groups of each of those races.

There are certain sub-groups that I do dislike, some that I heavily dislike, and some that I am fond of. I won't mention them just because that's how you get into trouble, but they do exist. Now, do I hate an entire race just because I hate the sub-group? No. I know and am good friends with several people from just about every race, and they themselves easily break stereotypes often attached to their respective race.

Now, the one thing I have noticed is the flourishing of "play-racism", especially in schools. I have noticed that students poke fun at certain races or certain groups, although most, if any, are not being serious at all. For example, the group I associate myself with often joke about Jews, as I'm sure many others do. However, we aren't doing so to be racist or because we are serious about the things we say, but simply because a member of this group is actually Jewish and fulfills most of the common stereotypes associated with those of the Jewish religion. He's completely fine with it, too.

Here's the real issue: Is today's "play-racism" nurturing hate for certain races, or is it actually destroying the wall between races? I, for one, think it is the latter; we are not actually serious about the things we say, we're joking. This brings us closer together, and, considering the group I associate myself with is comprised of a mix of races, is a bonding experience. Granted, there will always be the occasional person who is or was completely serious about everything they said and is a genuine racist, but I do not believe that a person who was once a racist will always be a racist.

I am not racist in regards of skin colour, gender, or religion. I see every person as a human regardless. Although i am racist on the beliefs of some cults, for example the Japanese kamikaze believing if they kill themselves they will go to a good place and have all the wealth's they want.

Also am racist on how groups of different race come into my country and expect everything to be given to them and have their own towns and schools just for them. also the crimes these gangs commit.

 

Everyone has their own biases, racism's no. I hate racists to be honest, it is a sign of stupidity, ignorance, and immaturity.

Who isn't? I am a little racist towards Mexicans because they take all the jobs here. I'm usually not, but I am stereotypical sometimes.

 

It's been proven that immigrants have helped the United States economy.
And exactly what jobs do they take? I am curious to see what you say.

I can be judgemental at times, however I would never show prejudice towards people because of their ethnic background.

 

They take all the construction, fast food, etc. jobs.
