Be more harsh on scammers

I think that's a kinda dumb idea :S maybe like put a 6 month IP ban on them then after the 6 months if they come back and scam again a perm ip?

 

they should be ip banned after their dispute is denied
why ip ban someone if they aren't 100% guilty

 

IP bans do nothing.. If you're smart enough to scam, you've got to be smart enough to know what a proxy is..

 

I Think he is saying that like the Scammer would be a known scammer that way people would know not to trade with him. Like Give him a rank that says scammer so he would have "scammer" Instead of making new accounts and people thinking hes legit and scam again.

People would still make new accounts anyways, so its a horrible idea.

You guys don't see what he's saying, ban the account and then put a 6 month IP ban on his IP adress, ban evaders get caught but there are still a lot of ban evaders out there, heck I bet 80% of people who joined in may of 2010 or june of 2010 are ban evadors. Although they could just change their IP adress with a proxy, having to change your ip adress from your original one just to get on sythe would be a punishment alone in my case.

Only actually reason I could see in IP banning people is for the stupid scammers that don't know how to change IP's, which obviously you do get 1 or 2. But then again.. they might be too stupid and think that they can't create a new account.

 

I think you need to re-think what you just typed.

 

You don't even need to use a proxy to change your IP in most cases, just resetting your modem will usually work.

I was banned on a rsps forum were it didn't let you log out after you've been banned. So your stuck with the banned account on the page and you can't log out so you can't register a new profile, unless you get another computer.

You guys have to remember you have to build trust here to scam, since people are really cautious here due to the huge scam history.

I disagree though, since this idea would be useless since its so easy to change your ip or use a proxy and just make a new account, so they just circumvented this new rule. Just perm ban the scammers the first time they do it.
