    Paper Rounds

Recently, a friend was talking about making a paper run in his suburb. I was wondering what the specifics were in this kind of job.

What time do you have to wake up?

What's the average distance to ride/walk?

How much will I get paid?

    How do I apply?

Is it a very popular job?

Will I get bagged out for doing it?

Is there any dog/angry old people danger involved?

    Are the bosses usually fair?

How much notice will I get?

How many times a week will I have to do it?

    Thanks for any replies posted,
    Matt.

    Paper Rounds

On a school day I usually get up around 6am and leave by 6.30am. On a weekend, it's more get up at 6.45am and leave by 7am.

Varies alot, some rounds are alot of walking with only 5 houses to deliver to, others (such as mine) are very close together but I have around 30 houses to deliver to.

Again, it varies, but the shop I work for pays everyone the same. £20 per week.

Just head up to your local newsagents and ask if they have any paper round jobs going, if they do, they'll probably put you on the waiting list and let you know when a spot frees up.

I suppose it depends on where you live, but I was on the waiting list for 2-3 months, so I suppose it is fairly popular.

I don't know what you mean by that.

There shouldn't be. Most people are still asleep at this time and keep their pets inside. If there's a dog in the house you will know about it, just don't put your fingers in the letter box with these particular houses.

My boss is very reasonable. He's a very nice guy and is pretty helpful. Again, it depends on where you live.

If you mean by the public, not a lot. There's hardly any one around at 7 in the morning so you won't really see anyone.

There are different kinds of rounds, a daily morning round or a once a week after school round. At least, here it is.
