Post count does not matter?

With my personal experiences with trading, post count is worthless.

What is worth something?
Join Date (obviously if you are from 2005 you're not going to throw away your account for $4 pin or something like that)
Vouches (obvious reasons)

Posts only really show how dedicated to the site that member is, it isn't a sing of trustworthiness.

I would trust more post count & more vouches & join date.

 

Post count does not really matter. Vouches from real trades, not from 'free services' do.

 

They do in a sense that you aren't some newcomer, so...you don't lose much work if you do get banned from scamming, but...it doesn't matter in the sense that since this person has 2K posts, he's trusted.

It depends.

I Look at the join date as well as their post count. If they joined a month ago and have 400 posts I'd tend to say untrustworthy, just spams for post count and trust.

If they had joined a year ago with 400 posts I'd say not very active but less likely to scam as they would've just made a knewer account if that was their intentions.

 

Example.
My join date is Jan 2007.
But my PostCount is like 900 something.

I post about .75 a day AVG.

I wouldn't throw away my account at all, it's ancient.

 

I go by join date, and large trade vouches.

 

Agreed, although.
I do change my last post, I wouldn't go first to someone who joined in 2005, but had 34 posts.
So I guess it kind of does matter to an extent.

 

I completely agree. It is ALOT more likely that someone with a lower post count scams than a member with a higher post count. It just comes down to how much they lose to be honest. A member with a post count of 50 in the market section loses alot more than a member with a higher post count even if its not in the market section.

 

I mean look at me, I have not been here a month and I have 300 posts? I have never scammed anyone but come on now, posts are easy.

Rely on trusted vouches.

 

If you're going to look at post count, look at join date as well. I've seen people get hundreds of posts in no time at all but they don't really mean anything.

 

Its kind of hard to get a high post count when your banned for scamming, jsut saying

 

Completely true, that's one of the things i look for before I purchase.

 

Post count does not matter its all about the vouches for me.
