You're right, this means the reviewing team/members need to be selected to address the different requirements/experience needed. Oh and my post did not identify Runescape alone.

Yeah I agree. Should be smart and old time Scapers only. But also need to be trusted.

This sounds like a reasonable and efficient concept, takes some pressure of the moderators and allows some members to step up and help the community.
I wouldn't mind being a part of this, that is if it gets approved.
    Support.

Some people are saying an application is required, while others are saying you must be appointed by moderator..

I should think it should be an application like OMMing. If you were appointed by a moderator it would just be whoever is friends with mods (not all of the time but a lot of it would be).

I think it should be referral by a moderator and there being a list of official verifiers over application/rank.

Id be up for it! But as spyike said i think there should be some kind of charge to verify(not completely necessary) because as he said before it does take time and effort to verify a guide and a little cash incentive would be helpful. I dont think it should be mandatory to have to pay a fee to get your guide verified but i think it should at least be an idea that should be publicized that way someone can approach a "guide verifier" with a few bucks and that person may be more inclined to do a complete verification rather than just skimming through, not to mention the person would probably pick that guide to verify over verifying someone who isnt paying him/her.

i support the idea.....i think a rank will be good as it will be easy to identify the person.....and if the guide is leaked bu him the person will get permanent ban(or ban from the market). An Ideal guide verifier in my eyes is:-
    1. Must have sold some guides on sythe.
    2. Should have 100+ vouches.
    3. Should be on sythe from 1 year (i think 1 yr will be fine).
    4. Staff members should know him and have trust on him.

Im for this only if choose the members rather than having specific requirements. Also I don't think their should be any more than 5 verifiers anymore and I think it would be a little ridiculous

If you throw cash incentive into the picture, then you are going to have a lot of less than desirable guides making it through the cracks simply because the price was right.

Even if there weren't cash incentives in place, there is still the ability for that to happen. I think that instead of having the verifiers set a fee, have a standard fee to be used by all verifiers, which is paid whether the guide is deemed worthy or not.

I agree with half of that. The part I agree with is the list of official verifiers, and not a rank.
Why do you think all that should be required is a mod referral?

    Put it this way:

You have to get referred by a moderator before making an application.

Before people start making their application, has admin actually said there is going to be a new rank for verifiers?

I like this so much better.
If this suggestion is approved then..
    - You must get a mod referral to apply
    - No rank, just an official list
    ( subject to change, I'm assuming )
    That's it right?

Should be OMMs or ex-mods (who retired amicably), not other members of the community.

Edit: Surely if more people are able to verify there is no need for payment, which last I heard was being considered to encourage mods to look at guides.

I know loads of people would want to do it for the rank. I don't give two hoots about such a rank. I'd be willing to do it for a small charge (depending on the guide).

Maybe we don't have any requirements? Just mod nominations. The moderator nominates one of us. Then the rest of the staff discuss it. Then if a majority agrees, then he gets the position. If majority disagrees, he gets denied.

I don't think there should be a fee regardless of the guide honestly.
Why don't you like the idea of an application btw?

Well we're still spending some time verifying it. What happens if it's a bullshit guide? I just wasted half an hour of my life.

Well it's kinda... not fair. That's not the word, but I can't think of a better one.
Someone suggested a specific number of vouches. Well I've got 18. How do you expect me to compete with someone like plznate, who has well over 400 vouches?
Someone also suggested people who have sold guides here in the past. Well let me tell you something. I've never sold a guide on the internet. Ever. Why should this be a requirement?

You could probably just look at it and know if it's bullshit?

IDK I don't really like this just because most of the members that do become verifiers wouldn't actually want to help the community like the mods do.
They either want a cash incentive or a free guide :p

However, I do like this somewhat just because it kinda does take a while to get a guide verified.
