Guide Verifiers

Recently, there was a feedback thread on how the mods don't verify the guides when they're supposed to. Me and a few others suggest on the thread they some trusted members of the community and those who play Runescape (runefags lol) could verify guides. Of course, this would have to be approved by the Globals and Admins, but I think it's a great idea.

The Xbox section has lobby verifiers who aren't all mods and I think guide sales would go more smoothly if we had more frequent guide verifiers.

Any comments/suggestions?

 

I totally support this idea! And if this is going to be implemented, I want to join Eh but it's up to the staff.
This would lessen the jobs for the mods to do.

maybe have certain requirements for an "official guide verifier?"

 

Pen is reviewing with Globals.. Give them time and I'm sure all will find feedback from the mass is considered in many of the higher decisions.

 

Has anyone got a plan for a application phase?

 

I don't think there should be an application. People should say I'm up for it, then moderators pick X amount from the list.

 

If this gets implemented I give it a week till theres controversy.

 

Pfff. Its just another one of the many things we do for you guys. Its not that we are supposed to. >_>.

This is currently under discussion as Spikey said, however any input or suggestions for how it should work are appreciated.

 

Requirements for Verifiers.

Must be a respected member of the community.
Must be on Sythe for at least 3 months.
Must be nominated by one of the current staff.

That's all I've got right now. Anyone want to suggest any more that goes on the list?

 

The current staff are only going to nominate respected members of the community that they think they can trust. So... The first two are kinda redundant.

 

if you at all looking for people to do this but do not know who, id be up for it

edit: how will sellers know if a person is an offical guide verifier, an offical list or a rank?

i had a rand idea: 3 newcomer map icons next to each other (or newcomer - cash stack - newcomer) with the text being "Guide Verifier"

 

They would just be placed into an official list of verifiers.

 

Mehh, there would be many people leaking etc, I would support but then again, I lean onto the non-support.

I think we should just motivate the moderator's to verify the guys or w/e.

 

that is why moderators are nominating members they know are trustworthy

 

If we get trusted people to do it, there should be no leaking.

I support this and I can help in any way possible if it gets passed.

 

I support this, it would help those who want their guides verified ASAP and the mods.
Btw, after reading this thread it seems as if the moderators will be choosing who is an official 'guide verifier'..and trusting someone who they trust doesn't seem like a crazy idea.

 

Not if the staff trusts them. And if they were to leak, it'd result in a market ban, and a 1 month ban, perhaps?

 

I agree with this idea. An official rank would be dumb as there are official other things that don't have ranks.

I'd support this too, as I've been trying to get some of my guides verified but mods are either too busy or aren't around.
As a result, this leaves space for a fake or ripped guide seller to sell his guide to (not so knowledgeable members) resulting in them being scammed.
Totally support this idea and wouldn't mind being a verifier myself ;P.

For the application process I'd suggest the requirements to be something like this:
- To have sold previous guides on the guide sections.
- Accumulated X amount of vouches as a result.
- In General be a "Trusted" Member and of course have the mods backing.
