    Trojan? Virus? HELP!

I keep getting this program hogging my CPU; iexplore.exe

At first I thought it was Internet Explorer, but when I end the process, it comes back, I end it again, it comes back again.

I've looked about in Google and some sites suggest that there is a virus named this.

Anyone know what it is or how to get rid of it?

    Trojan? Virus? HELP!

    ^ Isn't too clear.

Click the "start" button, then click "run". Then go to the "Startup" tab. Uncheck the box which enables Internet Explorer to start. Then restart your computer.

Alternatively, you can go to task manager, right click the process and click "end process tree".

Let us know if you continue getting this problem.

    Trojan? Virus? HELP!

End process tree doesn't work, only way to 'end' it is too go to resource monitor and suspend process.

Thanks for the help Necro, i'll do as you've said and tell you the results ;)

    Trojan? Virus? HELP!

Surely the most sensible option would be to run a virus/malware scan? >_>

    Trojan? Virus? HELP!

Search for "iexplore.exe" on your computer (hidden&system folders too). Upload an image with the results showing their directory. And I'll might be able to help you.

    OMG I never tried that!...

    No...

    Wait...

    ...I did.

So, on taskmanager, right click iexplore.exe and click go to services? That brings up a folder with some shit in.

    Trojan? Virus? HELP!

If you think it is a Trojan, or if it is. I would recommend reformating your computer as if it turns out to be a Trojan it could damage many components in your PC. Hope this helps.

    Trojan? Virus? HELP!

Had the similar problem some months ago.
I dont know if its like mine.. But I had something called like x3eS31.exe running on my computer as soon as I turned it on.. Even tho i terminated the process, it would pop up right away and start over again.

What I did was I found the source to the file... Now you gotta be quick lol..

Right click on the file, Click on delete but do not confirm the delete.
Open up taskmgr, end the process and quickly switch to the delete confirmation and delete the crap.

That should do it, but make sure you dont delete the original iexplorer :embar:
