The desperation of some service providers has apparently reached a new low with the practice of sniping vanity URLs. This unethical behavior is not acceptable and should not be tolerated. If this is allowed to continue, it will set a dangerous precedent for the future.

I also want to clarify:
Sending a post advertising one's services in response to a competitor's ban (someone else, the person knows who it is) may be seen as acceptable as it is within certain limits, but sniping a vanity URL is definitely not. It is a violation of someone else's "rights" and an attempt to profit off their work and reputation. This behavior shows a lack of ethics and professionalism, and it can have serious consequences for others involved in services as well. Addtionally in comparison to what happened to you, you do not only take advantage of the vanity url, but you take it one step further and try to get money for it as well. In fact, I would put it in the same category as name sniping and therefore request the same punishment as Sythe does in those cases, if they do not cooperate.

They should understand this, as they have experienced it themselves in the past after @Burns stopped with services and a competitor taking the vanity url, which we don't agree with either. In our opinion taking someone else's brand is a serious matter and cannot be taken lightly.

If we broke any Sythe rules, I would like to know which.

Vanity url /pvm was free to take. We also have other vanity urls like /rsgp and /gp.

We are not impersonating anyone.
Disallowing taking vanity urls when not used to imposter someone, would set a bad precedent, especially when it's a term as vague as PvM.

 

Update:

While Dobby was trying to resolve this, his counterpart has a weird view on the situation. Maybe he didn't have his daily lukewarm glass of milk.

Dobby and me had a pretty straight forward conversation and came to a solution that is as follows:
- they remove their post in the server with the sniped vanity url,
- we put our ad up,
- they give us the vanity url back,
- we drop the case. Not ideal, as it shouldn't have happened in the first case, but in the end it would have been resolved and everyone would have moved on.

Now to the part that everyone is waiting for:
Dobby, invited me to the server, removed their posting, let me post ours and the next step was to transfer the vanity url back. He said he wanted to wait for Ralph (Co-Owner) and that's when we went downhill again.
Once Ralph joined the conversation, he basically put us back to the starting point.
He apparently can't give us the url, because his cousin owns it. LOL

He then switches topic with something that doesn't have anything to do with the current topic.

As it seems like this won't move forward anymore, as Ralph is blocking everything like activists that glue their worthless selfs on things, we will wait patiently for the staff's decision.

Regarding DMing customers, we have only ever dm'ed our existing customers, which we have multiple secure databases where everything is tracked. We can provide evidence for this.

The "Name Sniping" rule listed under "Scamming" has always been in regards to RSNs. If they change their CashApp or Venmo link and someone takes it, is that sniping too? Do they now own the term "PVM" according to Sythe? In real-life law, you would never be able to trademark something as vague as "PVM."

How can this be considered a fair marketplace when there's clear bias? Creating a rule and banning someone for breaking it BEFORE the rule existed is ridiculous.

What's especially ridiculous is that it's a vanity link as vague as PVM. This can be used for almost any game. They have no trademark or right to it.

President has clearly already made up his mind and taken the side of PvM from the get-go.
"Either you give it back and I won't punish you, or Sythe will punish you."

President gave you an option that even Harambe could have come up with, but maybe he has over room temp iq:
Option A: Either we resolve this (Me and Dobby did, you and your billy boy cousin didnt)
Option B: Sythe staff resolves this. (Suprise Suprise, there is not much left when there is no agreement.)

What bias is there? Those options are the only things that can be done?

Regarding the spreadsheet, Rusty paid me to make his spreadsheet, including the apps scripts code, libraries, formulas, formatting, and more. Nothing was copied from Rusty. Additionally, I've went out of my way to assist him further through automatic updates, formatting improvements, etc...

Rather than continuing to make insults, why not come up with a case for why you should have this vanity link returned? There are no Sythe rules that state this and it is not a vanity link that's very specific. It's an extremely vague one.

The discord link discord.gg/pvm is not just a vanity URL, it is a significant part of our brand identity. That is why 07services is demanding $5k for it, as they understand its value. No one would ask for such a high price for a vanity URL unless they believed it would harm the competition.

We have been promoting the discord.gg/pvm link in our graphic design threads. This has allowed 07services to take advantage of the situation and acquire more clients under false pretenses.

Using someone else's identification for personal gain or to impersonate them is unethical and wrong. This behavior is not acceptable.

So, if you find someone ID in the street, are you going to imposter him? Take over their lifes?

PvM is the most vague term possible in regards to most games in existence. It is not your brand identity. You do not own the rights to PvM. You are not being impersonated. You are not being held hostage.

There are no “false pretenses” being used to “acquire clients.” No one is pretending to be you. No one wants to be you. You lost the vanity link. Get over it. Stop crying.
