Method to make insane amounts of gold doing little work

Hey guys I am recently active again on this forum and I thought I'd make a contribution to this section by revealing my method to making gold. This method has made me as much as 40k gold in a measly 25 minutes thought it has a very high risk and usually requires a pretty busy server to work smoothly.

What you will need:
-A decent amount of gold to start taking bets (1000 should be fine or 100 if you want ot take smaller bets).
-A little bit of luck.
-Enough balls to pay out bets if you happen to lose.

What is one weakness everyone has? Addiction, especially among people playing World of Warcraft. I created an in game casino to exploit this weakness one day. What I did is I hired a noob to spam trade chat for me in an attempt to find gamblers (as it states in the ToS that it is illegal to advertise for in game casinos however it is not illegal to run one)
the advertisement was something like:
"~~Come and double your gold! Pst _____ for a double or nothing /roll challenge! Simply trade the amount you want to bet and /roll, if you happen to roll over 65 you will win 2x your gold back!"

And the objective of the /roll game is pretty much described in the quoted advertisement above.. Have the person gambling find you in game and trade over to you the amount of gold they want to bet before /rolling. Usually people will be apprehensive to betting a large quantity at first and will start low, however don't be discouraged because as they learn that you actually pay out they usually gradually increase their bets. I know what your thinking - what if they win? Well it is best just to pay up as you can get penalized for scamming (usually a 3 day ban 3-5 times before getting account closure). The chances of you winning are 30% higher than those who are betting, and people tend to have a habit of betting until all of their money is gone. Also if you pay out you will probably have many frequent high rollers coming in to have a go with massive amounts of money. I ran this deal for about a week and got up to 28k on the first day, and ended the week gold capped and 38k more on an alt. This is by far the easiest way of making gold despite the risk and is pretty exciting.

Just keep in mind the following:
- Make sure you are not advertising in trade chat yourself or you can be reported and penalized, best to have a scapegoat advertise for you or let your guildies/friends know about it on ventrilo or something that can't be monitered in game
- Be sure to pay up 100% of the time even if you are going to lose a lot of gold, they will likely bet again with the odds against them and if you scam nobody will trust you.
- Don't take a bet that will completely clean your gold or else you will actually have to go out and farm more gold to take half decent bets.
- Maybe try and avoid doing this on your main character as many people do not appreciate the constant advertisement spam in trade chat.
- Try to maintain your odds (65/35) usually people don't even complain or notice how dumb they are for attempting to win with those odds, however if you enjoy risking giving 50/50 odds will get a lot more customers and a lot higher stakes, but you won't have that much of an edge - best to only give these special odds to those you find to be very addicted to this and seem to bet until they lose all their money.

Any tested it out to se if works? and can it get you banned?

 

Well I can say I have tested it with great success if that is of any value to you lol...
And the only way you can get banned is if you advertise for the casino yourself in trade chat (they give you 3 warning bans before permanently banning you for this offense) you can look it up yourself by searching "casino" under the ToS if you don't believe me.

 

I prefer soloing ramps.

 

Scamming another Player

This category includes:

* Acquiring items or any other "possessions" from another player through misinformation, confusion, or fraud (Scamming)
* Running a casino (invite others to bet a pre-determined amount of gold, use the "/random" command, and if the "roll" is within certain parameters, lose their money or gain winnings)

If a player is found to have perpetrated a scam, s/he may:

* Be given a warning
* Be temporarily suspended from the game

 

This is from the out of date ToS, I ask you please refer to the in game ToS found under the question mark icon on your UI.

Edit: This may still be in effect on EU servers, but definitely not on US.

 

How do they only have a 35% chance to win compared to a 65% chance to lose.. exactly what gambling game are you playing?

 

They have to roll over 65 to win...

 

I've only heard myths of people doing this years ago. I'm not sure if it works anymore, or if people are dumb enough to do it.

 

Oh yeah people are definitely dumb enough to do this, especially after you've gained their trust by paying out if they win the first few. And as far as I know you can still /roll so I don't see why it wouldn't work lol.

 

This actually does work a couple of Guildies on my server do this and have alts made just for this purpose. Also /roll does seem to give you low numbers alot specifically under 65+ only hard part is building up a rep so that people will trust you. Funny thing is this reminds me of Habbo Hotel. LOL

 

Yeah this is where I got the idea from... I was on WoW one day and was thinking about how fun taking throne and super bets was on habbo, but didn't have any, so decided this would be just as fun lol.

You can do /roll 100 to roll a 100, so you should download an addon to take notice of that if someone attempts to cheat.

A good addon for doing this is called 'LootHog', found here: [Loot Hog Addon]

 

The only flaw with /roll 100 is that it actually says in chat whether they rolled 1-100 or 100-100.

Sure if you like to make like 100 gold an hour and bore yourself to death

 

There are ways to make money that is a lot more than 100 gold an hour and not going to get you banned
