    Pay for stickys?

Did Sythe ever consider accepting donations for a sticky? I guess there would probably be a lot of donations for stickys maybe and possibly a bit over whelming for non stickied threads?

Well I think you should be able to be able to buy a sticky for X amount of time in increments, 2 weeks, 1 months, 6 weeks, and so on.

If you think this is a bad suggestion because you think there would be too many.

Then you could make it so you have to donate 30$ for like. 3 months of stick.

What I mean by that? You can have ONE thread at a time stuck. So if you have as service, but decide to open a Xbox live shop instead, you can transfer the stick over to your xbox store for X remaining time. Obviously you can't just switch it around to your liking daily.

    Pay for stickys?

Definitely not. Too many people would buy this and sections would be cluttered.

    Pay for stickys?

The general idea of this may actually work. Have promoted threads just below the stickies but only allow 4 at a time for each section. Make the minimum time 1 day, and the maximum time for 7 days. Increase the rates depending on the demand.

    Pay for stickys?

That's why I suggested you have to donate for a long period, thus having to donate more at once.

Matt's is good also, limit the stickys per section.

    Pay for stickys?

It could work but you fees musn't be very low and the threads should be revised before.

    Pay for stickys?

Not with the current forum design, due to the aforementioned cluttering, but there are various ways it could be implemented; for example, a chatbox at the top of the forum that scrolled through featured threads. In theory, the ability to advertise threads is a good idea.

Unfortunately, the site doesn't accept any form of instant payment, and the inconveniences, delays, and restrictions associated with mail would probably deter its use significantly.

    Pay for stickys?

I don't think any one would scroll through featured threads, I could be wrong.

Also, that's why I mention, since there is no forums of instant donation, it could not be used much, or it could be used a lot, also the clutter would be a problem.

    Pay for stickys?

I'm not a huge fan of the idea. Firstly, I can't visualize in my head how it'd work out. Maybe something similar to a news ticker across the top with links to featured threads, I don't know. In theory it's a nice idea, but in practice it'd be very flawed.

    Pay for stickys?

If you charged something like $50 a 7 day sticky it would help sythe. But this will just make none stickied threads on about the 3rd page and would just kill sections.

    Pay for stickys?

In my opinion, not that many users will actually pay that ammount of money to have their threads stickied, simply because it will not pay off. If they are a trusted member with a popular service, then it may pay-off for them to purchase it. I'm all for it, except I think it should be made in payments per month, prehaps $50-$60 a month?

If you really want to advertise your page, buy advertising on sythe.org?

    Pay for stickys?

I don't see how it is flawed imo, only problem in my eyes is the donating for it.

Maybe if there was a different layout for sythe it would make it seem less cluttered.

And like Matt said, 4 stickys per section.

I don't think it should go up by announcement stickies, just in the section of choosing, and it can never be "bumped" down, from other threads since its sticked.

Buy to have your THREAD on the front page like a banner? Would cost a lot, and I don't sell any thing any more so I don't personally want to advertise any thing, just a idea to bring in more donations.

    Pay for stickys?

$100 for 1 week, maximum 3 paid stickies per section/subsection on a first come first serve system would work.

    Pay for stickys?

    Worst idea of them all.
Nobody will pay 100 dollars just for 1 week..
Maybe 20 dollars a week would be good.

    Pay for stickys?

Naw, not to mention many scammers will pay the amount to receive more business and scam more.

Not worth the try in my opinion.

    Pay for stickys?

People can buy a sticky for the time being, people see it as a sign of trust, the owner of the stickied thread scams for a few hours, gets banned, and chargesback his money for the stickied thread.

    It wouldn't work. No support.
