Explanation of the trade: was middlemanning a 1B trade from a person who pmed me on sythe, i had him confirm it was him (twice) via discord / sythe pm's
How they scammed: Berenzo T#3755 (working with Shoto) approached me looking to buy my 1B OSRS GP and did not deem me trusted as i have just recently returned to sythe, no problem. I told him i would find a trusted middleman. I searched for 15-20 mins with no reply so he started to suggest middleman's himself which was not a problem i would pm them on sythe to confirm they were trusted and whatnot. Berenzo has me add this guy, Shoto from sythe, 300$ donator 500+ vouches etc but he takes a 5% commission which i told him he would have to pay for i would like the actual price of my gold. I dmed him on sythe, confirmed it in pms, and we continued on with the trade. I give Shoto 1B OSRS and then Berenzo asks if i have an additional 1B for .36 (pushing the incentive to double the stakes) i told him i did not have another 1B and would not be able to actually sell him another 1B on top. Shoto then pm's me and says: i have 1B cash i can sell him just say it came from you and i will give you a little finder's fee on top. i said sure. Shoto then pm's me and says okay send me 280$ ill give him 2B and he will send you 680$ (1b @ .32 and 1b @ .36) sounded good but it started to become extremely sketchy and i wasnt comfortable. I told him i didnt have 280$ in BTC ATM and wouldnt be able to do that deal, i asked him to just do the 1 trade and i will buy the gold directly off of him and then do another transaction afterwards. he asked how much i had i told him 83$. He said okay send me the 80$ and ill cover for you. i said nah its okay cancel the trade this is becoming sketch and did not wish to proceed (i knew i was already scammed at this point) as i asked him to refund me i found out he was deleting messaged out of the discord pm's and they both left the group chat and blocked me. I screenshotted everything i could as fast as i could as he was deleting the messages. this is what i got.

i understand this may be a bit sloppy, if you need me to go on discord i can screenshare all the deleted messaged to line up timestamps etc with him pming me on sythe blah blah blah i can do all of it. JamesDanero#9821 i tried to screenshot all of the PM's before he deleted them all.

i actually figured this out after i woke up the next morning, it was 3 am i wasnt thinking thoroughly my apologies.

 

@Shoto In the future please make sure you add both parties Discord ID's & UID's in your PM. Not just a copy paste of a chat log.

I'm truly sorry for your loss. If you haven't yet familiarized yourself with basic Discord & Sythe trading practices, I recommend you read carefully the following guides:

Furthermore, ALWAYS request a Sythe PM confirmation and verify all parties involved info before proceeding with any trades (I can't stress this enough).
