    Need to upgrade my laptop.

Ok, my laptop is need of an upgrade, it's not slow, it just can handle what I want it to do, which is run several runescape bots at a time.

I am no tech wiz, so don't hold me to this, but i THINK it needs an upgrade of the processor and RAM, and possibly the HDD.

    The specs are as follows;
    Processor: Intel Celeron 560 2.13GHz, 533MHz FSB, 1MB L2 Cache
    RAM: 1GB DDR2 (Max Memory 2GB)
Hard Drive: 80GB Serial ATA 5400rpm
    Screen: 15.4" Widescreen TFT (1280x800)
Optical Drive: DVD±RW Super Multi Double Layer
Graphics: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100
    Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate
Chipset: Mobile Intel GL960 Express Chipset

So, I basically need to speed it up and give it more physical memory as well as the ability to run more applications.

    any recommendations?

    Thanks in advance.

Processor needs an upgrade. I suggest Intel® Core™ Duo Processor. Here is a link for you to check out regarding the processor:

New RAM is definitely a must. I suggest at least 2GB. The faster the better. Check this out:

3GB is recommended though. You're running Windows 7. Windows Vista itself needs at least 2GB of RAM. Get 3GB for your Windows 7.

How much free memory do you have on your hard drive?

You cannot upgrade a laptop processor...

Really the only things you could upgrade would be the hard drive and the Ram, but I really don't think that would give you much of a boost. Biggest thing I can say is DON'T USE WINDOW 7. You do not have the specs to be able to run it well, so downgrading back to XP (which you should have never gotten rid of) would probably be a good idea.

I shouldn't have actually said that you cannot, however it really is not worth the effort. You need to completely take apart your laptop just to access the processor, which risks breaking dozens of different important parts. You also have a limited choice in what to upgrade to, as laptop sockets are changed much more often than desktop sockets. Finally, many laptop manufacturers sometimes use proprietary sockets, soldering on the CPU, as well as BiOS that are used only for a specific processor, which can make a laptop upgrade even more difficult if not impossible. It really is not worth trying to upgrade your laptop, as even if you upgraded it to the maximum you could do with it, it would still be slower than an average new laptop you could buy today - and probably cost more too.

I would say its too hard to upgrade a laptop, and that you will be better off just buying a new one :)
