Should a mosque be built near Ground Zero?

“Building the Ground Zero mosque is not an issue of religious freedom, but of resisting an attempt to insult the victims of 9/11 and to establish a beachhead for political Islam and Islamic supremacism in New York. Ground Zero is a war memorial, a burial ground. We should Respect it. We feel it would be more appropriate maybe to build a center dedicated to expunging the Koranic texts of the violent ideology that inspired jihad, or perhaps a center to the victims of hundreds of millions of years of jihadi wars, land enslavements, cultural annihilations and mass slaughter”

I voted yes, there shouldn't really be a problem.. it's not like the people building it were the ones that caused 9/11.

Im not totally in favour of it because it maybe seen as disrespectful as 9/11 was caused by muslim terrorists.

Im sure theres other areas where this mosque could be built ? A bit further away from ground zero?

Are you sure the terrorists were muslim? Did you see them? Were you on the planes or something? Cause they all died. Oh you only heard about it? Yeah....about that....

Even though the poll says Yes is winning, it's sad to know that /b/ botted the shit out of the results, so i'm pretty sure no would be winning.

I don't see why not. It does not degrade any persons way of life.
If they own the land, its their right as americans.

Should a mosque be built near Ground Zero?

Which hundreds of millions of years were these?

    The first amendment:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

There is absolutely no reason other than xenophobia for the refusal of such a building.
