Temp Bans and Dispute an Infraction forum

You should get an infraction, your signature space is enormous with nothing in it. You're just an annoyance for members, especially those who have small monitors.

 

I personally think the removal of the dispute and infraction forum wasn't the best idea, My opinion should be this.

5 infractions = 1 week.
7 = 2 weeks.
8 = month.

However I think it was a clever choice to bring the length of the temps down, due to that many people who get temp banned, might not choice to return.

 

3 days? How trivial.

IMO the system should go

5 infractions = 7 days
7 infractions = 14 days

 

I honestly think that lowering the amount of days temp banned is a good idea, however I wouldn't remove the Dispute an Infraction section as there is more then just temp bans that fall under that category.

 

That would suck. Someone would get a 2 week ban, learn their lesson and then a mod would weed out some post from weeks ago and infract them for it, giving them a one month ban.

How about we just stick to the current system and see how it goes? I still think the dispute an infraction forum should be brought back though. And Fabregas... what's the point of a huge blank signature?

 

I think the time should be lengthened because it seems like this is just making them come back sooner and mess things up.

Anyone who gets infracted eight times in a month deserves a month ban in my opinion.

Yeah, I think that's probably the more sufficient system.

I think he means they need to serve the punishment and reflect what they have done so they can get the point across not to do it again, three days wouldn't do that.

 

3 days is pretty long imo. A lot of the time, spam is unintentional but people still get infracted for it. It can also get accumulated and they get like 6 infractions at once.

We realize people aren't intentionally trying to break these spamming rules, so we are trying to minimize the time length of these bans.

If you are temp banned for infraction buildup, then you may dispute the temp ban in the Dispute Forum if you wish. It's simply a waste of time to deal with infraction disputes.

This is a trial run, so if necessary, the time length will be changed accordingly.

I disagree with this. If you haven't got something helpful to say, don't say it at all. I don't understand how spam can be "unintentional" . Spam is spam, when someone posts something like; "cool", the only reason someone would post this kind of post would be for spam.
Honestly, I've been here on Sythe for a while, and haven't gotten one spam infraction...
and also, if you were to unintentionally spam, I don't think you would do it often enough to be temporarily banned.

Also, I think it should be ;
5 infractions - 7days
7 infractions - 14days
9 infractions - 30days

The new Temp bans are much too short.

About the Dispute an infraction removal..
As SuF said, people make mistakes, and I quote Spyike on this one;

 

Guys, just remember this is a trial. We decided to go public with it just to see how it goes and it most likely will be tweaked some before we stick with it. Throwing out number of infractions and ban lengths doesn't really help us much unless you give solid reasoning for what you say because without that we can not judge the best combination of ban length to number of infractions.

Yes, I like the shortened temporary bans. However, moderators could make unintentional mistakes..

 

I don't like this. You are allowing spammers to spam their asses off, and then come back in 3 days and scam. Not to mention that they repeat this process on other accounts.

Sometime, mods give infractions by mistake.

And I have 2 infractions now. I don't like this.

 

Skele said the punishment would be severe if anyone keeps on spamming. And people have already kept on making new accounts to spam before this.
