    *real* How to fix cmd when it closes quickly.

    First tut, please enjoy.

    1- Download the NEWEST JDK 6_20.
    http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp

    [IMG]

    Agree to the terms and conditions, and install Jdk 6_20.

    2- Setting up Environmental Variables. Windows 07 users.( should be the same for most windows )
    First Click on My computer> Properties> System Properties > Advanced System settings > Environmental Variables.

    [IMG]
    [IMG]
    [IMG]
    When you are on your Environmental variables, you should see two boxes like this. ( i rubbed the bottom bit out )
    [IMG]
    Now Click on "new" and for the Variable Name, call it "classpath"
    and copy this.
    C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_20\bin;%CLASSPATH%;

    And click on "new" again, and this time name it "path"
    and copy this
    C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_20\bin.;

    This leads your Command prompt to where your java is.
    NOTE: if you dont know where your java is or what update you have this is for you.
    Start> My computer> local disk drive C: > Program FILES> Java >
    [IMG]

    Then you click on "BIN" and copy the adress at the top.
    [IMG]

    Then go back to Number 2, and do it. Instead of my code, you put the one you just copied.

    3- This should now work your command prompts, if not,
    right click the thing your trying to open, ( command prompt )
    and click on edit.
    At the end, instead of EXIT, put in pause.
    so for Example.
    [IMG]
    And it should say, WHY it isnt working.

    IF it says something like "NOCLASSDEF FOUND" Go back to step 2.
    If it says something like " Java is an interal or external command" Go back to step 2.

    Thanks, Please post ALL problems here.
    Remember, my First TUT.
    Positive comments please.
