Need mod to handle this situation.

I swapped accounts with a sythe member named "spam reporter".

The details about his I account that I was receiving were incorrect and he claims the details are correct and that he is the original owner.

I sent 3 appeals testing details he provided me. All 3 came back negative. Account is now locked.

I have screenshots of details and I will turn them over to any mod that bothers....

 

I'm personally going to talk to him myself. I did vouch for him and at that time I had complete trust in him - as what I said was true, he did have access to my Maxed Ranged Tanker and he does live only a couple of suburbs away.
I don't know him PERSONALLY (as in I haven't met him in real-life or anything), but I do have his contact details- including his mobile number.
I am going to personally talk to him about this, and if the real details are unable to be supplied, then I will ensure he refunds or is banned - as much as I am against doing so.

 

We can't do "refund". This was a swap.

 

Well then can a compromise be reached? If he were able to provide a new account, or a sum of cash to act as a replacement would you be happy? (Feel free to post any ideas of your own).

 

He said he doesn't use paypal cause of chargebacks, etc. etc..

And for a new account, I need the details... I can't have an account that I can't recover if stolen. And since this is sythe, I really can't trust people.

 

This is the runaround I've had with klava and SR over the last few days.

I don't think either are at fault:

1) Account appeals can be denied, even with correct information. I've had my appeals for an old account of mine created in 2002 denied twice before, even though I had recoveries and answered them correctly. SR may be giving correct information; there's no real way to check. Leading on to...

2) Klava should've worked out this detail with SR before the trade. This is one of the risks of account swaps; I do not believe SR is at fault if Klava did not confirm that the account could be recovered (i.e. by having Alteranz or another trusted user 'middleman' the swap.)

This may be an admin decision in the end, but it's my belief SR should not be banned.

Yes, what Tgump has said is completely true to be quite honest... sometimes the sudden change in IP address and country is enough for Jagex to lock the account- It IS a risk you have to take when swapping or even purchasing an account from someone else.
Personally I know that even with a considerable amount of info that a recovery request can be denied... as it has happened to me many times before. Your best bet would be to contact SR again, see if you can get ANY more critical information from him, and in a week or so make another appeal - the reason that you should wait a bit is that if there are no recovery requests for a long period on a specific account, then Jagex are a bit more lenient on accepting any future ones.

I too don't think that SR deserves a ban, unless the information provided is PROVEN to be false.

Can't you have the original owner recover the account (using stolen password) and reset all the info? (Sorry if I misread anything, I just quickly skimmed through)

 

No, I want to be able to recover the account. I don't care if the original owner can, I need to be able to for security reasons.

 

That's what I'm getting at. Have the original owner recover it via stolen password so it resets all the info, then have him set brand new recovery details, etc... and have you recover using that info.

 

The account doesn't have any info set on it except an email, which SP claims to be set by a hacker.

As far as I am aware, SR is attempting to recover the account with the same details he supplied Klava and seeing if it works - as he is adamant he has recovered it successfully in the past with the same info.
He will then do as Skele has said and reset the info and such, and this will all be supplied to Klava as a fresh account- I see no problem with this?

 

Why is he recovering it? The account was "fresh" when I received it, and still is "fresh".

I will be recovering it with the details I've been supplied.

 

Isn't Spam Reporter banned now anyway?

If you try recovering it as well it will end up locked. Just let him recover it and then set new recovery info and give all the info to you..

 

It's already locked. I'm not gonna try recovering it for a weeks or so.

 

If you're not going to be doing anything for a few weeks, should I lock this?
