Is refusing to donate your organs wrong?

I think that you CAN abuse a corpse, but you CAN'T take corpses organs if he didn't accept it as he was alive.

Because abusing a corpse takes nothing away from corpse, but taking organs away obviously does.
Don't get me wrong, I think that all people should agree to give their organs away, but if they disagree, you can't take them.

 

Natural Selection made his organs too weak to survive why should he use mine.

My mother made me be an organ donor.

Depends how you look at it.
Would you accept a organ donation if you needed it? or not?
If you take but don't give then i think its wrong and selfish.
Else its open IMO.

 

But if you think about it, when you die, are you still the owner of your body? What's there to own when you die - if you don't exist anymore? Who can claim ownership of the body? You make decisions that abide to your living self. In theory, your parents conceived you. By creating you, they have the most ownership of your body upon death, so you can refuse to donate but your parents can probably override it. Just think about it... is it still your property if you passed away?

 

Donating anything for a good purpose is the right thing to do. If you can give someone thats dieing one of your organs why not.

 

It would be considered the 'morale' choice, and one that would benefit society in some way shape or form but there should be no pressure that you HAVE to donate them. I personally, will donate my organs but in saying that I know plenty of people who feel against it for the reason none other then it is their decision and that no one should be able to influence it.

I personally don't care what happens to my organs (or any other part of my body) after I'm dead.

Why? Because I'll be dead. End of story.

 

It's not wrong, It's your choice.. you shouldn't feel down if you didn't donate, it's like saying.. is donating to someones paypal wrong, it's your choice..

No, it would not be selfish. Your body is a unique part of your being. In not donating your organs you are choosing to keep your already possessed shell. Though I'm not stating my stance, I see a person who does not choose to give away his body as recognizing more value in it.

 

Just because you are a organ doner, doesn't always mean you will be donating organs. Not donating your organs doesn't make you a bad person, or selfish at that matter. So no, it isn't wrong.

 

So people that do not donate their organs due to religious reasons are selfish? That's nice.

 

hey, if u dont want to.. u never have to, but if it ur family i think you shud donate ur organs it would be wrong to let ur father or close family die bcoz nobody would donate a organ

there is no price with family, do what ever possible.

 

I wouldnt say wrong but if someone was in need of them and you say no then thats wrong.

 

So you consider it to be wrong fora 'non donor' to say 'no' to a human being in need? Let's say this 'human being' was an awful crook or maybe a murderer of a family of five, would your thoughts change?


Though, many people will say 'they have no opinion about it' really, I.E, their actions contradict their words. Truthfully, when it comes down to it, something will have to go onto that license that each individual obtains in their younger age.

Much of this society today, like to criticize the ones that choose not to be a donator, yet, many of whom only consider the principles of basic knowledge, to them 'common sense'.

yes, people like my mom need an organ to survive because their body has failed in some way, while you're dead you could save lives, why wouldn't you want to save a human life, I guarantee you won't need them after you die. please the next time your driver licenses expires, become a life saver, it's not hard.

 

If you needed food for your family, and you stole it from the supermarket, is what you stole "justified" because you were in desperate need? Of course not.

Humans have rights, dead or alive. This is includes choosing to either donate/keep their organs. It is up to the individual.
