    Subject being Hydrochlorothiazide
    Pretty basic chemistry, but I find this rather interesting.
    A brief run down of what Hydrochlorothiazide is in my own words;

    A diuretic drug belonging to the thiazide class.
    Thiazides in diuretics are commonly used to treat Hypertension or High Blood Pressure.
    This particular thiazide works by restraining or inhibiting the kidneys ability to hold or retain H2O by acting on the kidneys in such a way as to reduce sodium reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubule. This, in turn, reduces the blood volume (amount of blood), leading to decreased levels in blood return to the heart and thus affecting cardiac output.
    Simple terms; This drug, with the correct dosage, reduces the heart beat so low that the beats become virtually undetectable. Due to the low heart beat, the body is unable to function normally, resulting in an unconscious state of mind.

    Similar drugs have been used in a few movies in the past years, as well as Romeo and Juliet.

    I have written this to give people insight into the interesting aspects of chemistry and its potential and wish to discuss the potential uses for this particular dosage of the drug, Hydrochlorothiazide.

    Personally, I find no use for such a dosage other than that used in movies in order to deceive people into thinking one is dead.

    Discuss.

    It's proposed that it's a naturally occurring hallucinogen. No-one knows its exact purpose, yet propositions to its presence in our, and other mammals brains and bodies have been made.
    It is one of many unknown chemicals in our body. It's proposed that DMT alters the state of consciousness, becoming useful in REM sleep, and possibly even involved in the creation of normal waking states of consciousness.
    This tryptamine may also be the cause of the visions people claim to see in near death experiences. The theory is that a massive release of DMT from the pineal gland prior to death or near death was the cause of the near death experience phenomenon.
    Though these are only theories, they are currently the most accepted to date.
