Guide to buying a good paid moneymaking guide in Guide Sales

Well after buying a bunch of "moneymaking guides" that weren't flipping, I decided to make this short post about what you should look out for if you're buying a supposedly sick guide in the Guide Sales section that has like 2m an hour or something like that.

I'm not accusing any guides, but most of these supposedly amazing guides may require you to buy odd items or sell odd items that you might never have even known existed. And if you don't know that they exist, chances are others don't know as well and won't be dumping/buying massive quantities of them in the GE. Alot of the guides however require you to buy alot of them, however, and in the three moneymaking guides I've bought, they all involved having to buy something unbuyable/not nearly buyable enough, or made you end up with unsellable junk. Especially when you consider that if they won't buy for you, another five people are buying the same item who might have also bought the guide. Who is standing around killing dagannoths for 1k circular hides? Nobody.(That guide was already leaked so don't accuse me of leaking it.)

Note that this really does not affect flipping/merchanting guides in any way. They involve mainstream items and those will most likely always sell for the most part.

My experience with buying moneymaking guides has mixed feelings. The guides may be legitimate and make sense, but when you deal with overlooked items you often deal with a tiny supply as well. I might as well have been scammed for money I spent on guides looking at my current GE window.

If you really want to buy a moneymaking guide, I suggest you ask alot of good questions first because quite frankly, I'd have done better off buying gold than buying half these guides. Make sure that if it involves items, it's in constant supply such as dragon boots or potions or something like that. Otherwise, you might be able to buy out the whole GE stock in one offer just to get enough to do 30 minutes of the amazing moneymaking guide, and you'll have to wait another 10 days to get another 30 minutes.

EDIT: Also keep in mind this is coming from a 136 with a 330m+ bank. Every now and then the bosses have been getting to me and dropping absolute crap and I search for a stable money guide that is over 3m+/hr on here. If you're a pure and you can't do anything better you still might want to take a shot at the guides, although its a big risk. If you're a higher level, take advantage of your skills and ability to boss hunt and don't bother with moneymaking guides.

 

Good read, I have been looking for the guide sales for some time trying to find a good guide that does more than 2m per hour. Which by the time I've found one it has either been busted already due to too many buyers or is starting to get there (able to be seen by buyers post).
And i don't really want to buy gold as I really don't like the thought of someone on my main.
Troublesome problem it seems.

 

Thanks, I really think this guide should be read by a bit more people, 99% of the moneymaking guides in guide sales are more GE dependent than the flipping guides.

 

Great Guide! Well worth a read Not only by buyers but also buy sellers! They should read this and understand that they need to be suppling top quality guides that have been thouroghly tested before even submitting to be verified! And I'm not being mister perfect here as I'm just as guilty as anyone of not thoroughly testing my own ideas before releasing *ashamed face*.
