Don't resort to violence, if that is your only hope then that proves what we as human beings have become.

Be mature, get a hold of him and ask why he is taking every chance to insult you and your mother, that will not only confuse him but make him less inclined to retaliate as he will be completely off-guard.

Only use force as self-defense, this is un-likely as the kid is younger than you are.

Or just do what everyone else is telling you to do and beat the crap out of him and risk suspension/expulsion/alienation from your school.
