Troops protecting U.S borders.

So to sum this up... Pres. Obama sent National Guard troops to protect the U.S borders between Mexico and United States. I personally feel sorry for the guys that trys to sneak across the borders.

I believe the troops should do both and enforce illegal immigration.

 

Using the national guard seems like a more cost efficient method than training more border patrol guards, but in the long run getting more officers instead of troops might be better.

 

Finally, a use for the National Guard.

 

They do get used when there is disasters of sorts, but other than that they do not do much. But they are not really supposed to be a permanent thing, so using them permanently isn't really that great.

 

True, but we'd see a lot more National Guard registrations if their purpose was expanded.

 

Do you guys realize that there are more Guard and Reservist in the War than there are Active duty?

 

The National Guard does have people in Iraq and Afghanistan, they aren't completely useless like you guys think.

 

I am glad this is happening. I give props to the National Guard. Immigrants should not be trying to get in.

Well we did beat Mexico 3 - 1 and they seemed like NICE People!

 

What are their orders? Shoot on sight?

 

Why wouldn't they enforce immigration laws? The purpose of the border is to keep people out who aren't supposed to be here. That shouldn't apply to only drug cartels.
