    If there were no bots?

    Better or worse?

I think runescape would be alot less popular but better.

Your definition of better is wrong. Bots are the main things that keep the economy running. Tell me, which part of the RS community brings in more supplies? The botting part or the legit? Sounds to me you haven't even given a thought about it.

    If there were no bots?

I thought you quit yesterday? Runescape would fail without bots simple because botting brings in everything people need.

IDK, I wont denie it would be alot less popular... But I doubt very many people would have 200m XP In fletching/cooking/hunter E.G.

So it kind of takes the fun out of it.

    If there were no bots?

This, this, this, this. Assuming you guys played back then, before the RWT updates and everything, botting was out of control and people were suiciding pretty much every skill and it was bringing so many raw supplies into the market that the prices on most supplies were like half what they are now (this also made production skills like fletching way more profitable than it is now)

Botting is a good thing really. I'd rather have to search for a training spot than have to pay ridiculous prices on everything like we do now. This economy is fucked compared to a few years ago, lol. Unbalanced PVP drops and trade limits have caused maaaassive inflation, and it'll probably just continue since we've got more and more cash coming into the market because of PVP.

    If there were no bots?

I can assure you, botting will never be completely eliminated. Why? Because JaGex needs bots. I already explained why bots are necessary for the game. Without them, the prices will be so fucking high that many people will stop playing until the issue is fixed.

And you seem to forget that bots seem to get smarter day by day. Do you think JaGex is the only one improving their products?

    If there were no bots?

There always has been, and always will be, bots.

In order to stop all bots, they would have to employ hundreds more staff, go through a lot of court procedures and waste thousands, possibly even millions, of pounds on what is unneccessary.

Jagex benefits from botters, purely because of membership prices that botters pay. Also, i'd like to bring in a quote from Andrew Gower himself.

    If there were no bots?

Can you please back up your answer.. In what way would it be better? Levelling up and money making is an extremely tedious task, so why do it yourself when you have bots at hand?

I believe you learn how to construct a sentence and answer a quesiton with some detail by the age of 12..

    If there were no bots?

    Exactly how I feel.
I've also noticed i've become increasingly lazy in the game ever since I started using bots.

    Before:
'Damn, I really need 5m, time to go kill some aviansies'

    Now:
'I need 5m more.. Hmm, guess i'll just chuck the bot on overnight'

    If there were no bots?

Jagex would be a lot worse off, a lot of their money comes from botters hence why they hand out temporary bans now instead of permanent ones. Personally, I spend a lot of my time playing legit, I enjoy the game for what it is, even tedious tasks like soul wars I am now starting to play legit.
RuneScape would become a lot less popular, one reason being that botters make up a large majority of the population of RuneScape. Another being that if there were no botters, the prices of many resources and gathered items would rocket, for example red chincompas.

    If there were no bots?

I know, it was a lazy answer. Guess I should back it up.

    ...

When you play a game, you play it to achieve something. I used to farm PC by hand to earn enough points for 90 ranging back in the days.. This was before SW and before the PC nerf.
I can create a endless list of hard work I have put into my RS-accounts, and my WoW-account for that sake. And the feeling of achieving something, after all the hard work, really makes up for it.
After boting was introduced for real (yes, I bot now), I lost the rewarding feeling after achieving something. It wasn't I who did it, it was a machine, my lazyness.

Before I started to bot, I learned to appriciate the games I played. Really, appriciate. This feeling is gone, and will probably never return. Now I only play for the results of my boting, which gives me the same feeling I had before I turned the bot on. Had it been by hand, my appriciation would be far greater, and the general gaming experience would, in my oppinion, improve alot. (Im basing this on my previous experience).

But, I must admit. The game has become very repetitive (as most mmorpgs), and hadn't it been for boting, I don't know if I'd still be around.

This is pretty much why I said what I said.
