I'm with you on England. Their offense is now one of the best in the world. Italy can't win; Totti wasn't part of the 30-man preliminary team.

They are going into this game with great mentality and they won't let any team get past them in this World Cup. They've made too many little mistakes that has caused them the match. They just need to focus and not let down after they make a mistake.

Lol. Watching US soccer is like watching paint dry on a wall. But, if they put 110% effort into their first game against England on June 12th, it'll be a great show.

A few of my friends are going. They wouldn't take me because it's too much.

They don't have Totti, but I guess Italy can still pull through. Sometimes having an experienced team that has played internationally is better than having a young, non-experienced team playing in the World Cup. I'm looking for a lot of surprises and upsets this year, so let's see what happens.

 

I honestly think Paraguay will do well, if not win, this year.

Most realistically, I think England or Portugal will win.

EDIT: I think if the US play like they did at the Confederations Cup, they have a good chance aswell.

in my opinion, either argentina or netherlands, both robben and messi have improved in the past couple of seasons, but im going for australia, GO AUSTRALIA.

Group B: Argentina + Nigeria
Group C: United States + England (US tops England in group play)
Group D: Ghana + Germany
Group E: Netherlands + Cameroon
Group F: Italy + Slovakia
Group G: Portugal + Brazil (Ivory Coast could pull an upset here)
Group H: Spain + Honduras

I'm taking Spain for the whole thing. They're too star studded to deny. Plus, Euro 2008 was their coming out party, finally breaking through on the big stage.

 

Group F: Italy + Paraguay

 

Paraguay's striking talent is relatively good after Roque Santa Cruz. Nelson Haedo Valdez is a burner, Oscar Cardozo scores tons of goals for Benfica (but often doesn't do much for Paraguay), and they just got Barrios who is one of the Bundesliga goal leaders.

Biggest blow to their strikers was the shooting of Cabanas...

 

They'll still lose to Italy and Slovakia can give them a good chance. I wouldn't worry too much about New Zealand though.

You're giving Paraguay way too much credit and you have to remember, that the players from Paraguay don't usually play against the better soccer players. This'll give them a disadvantage.

 

Spain!

 

England will get to the semi's imo. I cant decide on who i think will win but i dont think Italy and France are going to get far.

Mainley because Italians team for me is too old and the french had quite a problem qualifying.

But then againe it is football so anything could happen

Totally agreed. Whenever England is in the semi-finals, they always choke and lose.

Paraguay beat Brazil and Argentina in qualifiers (if I'm not mistaken). Those teams both include better soccer players. I know I'm somewhat favoring Paraguay just because I'm from there, but I honestly think skill-wise, they will beat Slovakia.

 

on curren't talk who saw that 3 touch goal by inter was pretty sick play, and their defence is undoubtedly the best in the world.

 

Honestly, don't just pick someone because they're good. Do you have any reasoning to pick Spain?
