How does a amazon refund work?

Well I bought one of those Chi-Phones (Chinese SciPhone) and well SMS doesn't even work so I want to return, how do they return the money, put it back in the bank or give me a giftcard? (I payed with a GC)

Everything is in orig packing and everything as they say, so help guys?
