    Slightly Worried :/

Well, a few weeks ago my younger brother got a REALLY nasty virus on our home computer. It kept bringing up messages inviting us to download a security tool, and telling us that the computer was infected with thousands of different viruses, it wouldn't let us access the internet and it disabled our AV and all administrator tools. As soon as I worked out it was really bad and that I couldn't sort it myself, I disconnected it from the internet and switched it off.

Anyway, we sent it to a shop to get it fixed, and they had to completely wipe the entire system of everything, and reinstall the operating system. We got it back last week, and whilst my dad was setting everything up again, he noticed that he had a new email from Amazon. He read it, and it was thanking him for his order. Basically, the person who was spreading the virus had got hold of his Amazon account details through the virus and used them to buy 3 brand new, top of the range Sony laptops... Anyway, my dad looked into it and it turns out the delivery address was still set to our house. Amazon said they would try and intercept them at the courier company, but apparently didn't manage it, as the laptops arrived at my house today.

I'm kind of worried, because bearing in mind that the person who has done this must be fairly intelligent, they still sent them to our address. I really doubt that that was just a stupid mistake. Has anyone got any clue why they may have done this?

    Thanks guys :) =|

They couldn't really have had it sent to their own address - that's a rather easy way to get caught, especially with a well-organized company like Amazon. I'm guessing whoever purchased the laptops just wanted to fuck with you; perhaps it was something personal.

Hmm, I hope it is something as simple as that. I'm nervous that there is something deeper going on. :/

It's a common thing. Amazon doesn't hide that information when you are logged in, so all it did was keylog you.

Just send them back and get a refund, Amazon is cool about stuff like that.

Helpful Tip: Disconnect from the internet while running a virus scan so it can't mess with it.

#2: I assume the internet error is something just screwing with your DNS server, which just reroutes all addresses to that, "You have 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 viruses page."

We have pretty much sorted out the whole 3 laptops we don't want thing, and will hopefully get our money back.

In terms of the internet thing, the only page it would show was some stupid fake page saying 'This web page is unavailable' with all this other crap. Occasionally it would redirect you to a porn website, but that was it :/
