he messaged me today wanting to MM for someone looking to buy GP. i confirmed this is him on sythe and ElitePVPers. traded him the GP to hold for the other person, while they paid me. he got scammed by the other party. currently waiting repayment.

this is a majority, we have just chatted from here. he is actively working on paying me back,. just want this out there until i am paid in full.

I'm actively working for paying the debt back. I mostly have experience as boosting service for ranked games. I have always known that need to be very careful when doing osrs related trading. I have decided to freeze all operations related to sythe and some other services.

I'm victim of long social engineering process by the scammer and i decided to help him out with buying gold.

The mule that was used for this transaction was compromised around 5 days ago by having an account linked to scammers steam. The mule was created while ago for purposes of being an mule and scammer had access to the account 5 days ago and that was the day when he linked his steam and asked me to change all password as he planned to use me as MM for future gold buying. We have been talking for long time and he seemed very friendly so I missed all red flags eventually.

This is great lesson about how long these scammers act to be your friend and eventually use you for personal gain by scamming.

I have learned my lesson now and I will pay the full debt back as I have no reason to not do it. I personally lose the whole scammed amount because of this.

 

For more information about the scam this happened to another guy too, but bit differently i assume as mine was done via linked steam account. The discord unique is same but he changed from BMW to Vicky. I looked around if anyone else has fallen victim and found this archived thread:
