Gifting on paypal..

I'm having a problem understanding how to tell if something is "gifted" to you, because I want to know that someone won't be able to get their money back after they pay me for something. However with a friend we've tested it out back and forth, "gifting" to eachother. Were both pretty confident that we have been properly gifting, but why does it say "Payment from" instead of "Gift from" under Type? I need to know how to tell something is being gifted.:huh:

 

Yeah i also have questions about this. If its from a CC im pretty sure they can get it back no matter what. But im wondering if they gift from balance can they get back? What if they used the donation button could they retrieve the money? But it will say Payment from, and somehwere in there it sould say it was sent as a gift.

 

This was a recent change by paypal. There is no real way to verify now whether or not a payment has been sent as a gift sadly : /

 

Either way, a gift can be recovered, just watch who you trade with and hope they tell you the truth about how they sent it.

 

Best bet is to make them send and put a note saying, I have recieved my goods, when sent. They'll have more trouble getting it back from their. MAKE SURE IT'S REAL LIFE GOODS NOT VIRTUAL THOUGH!
