Just got a date yesterday. Was originally planning on not going because my school's costs 90 bucks (not worth my money, parents wont pay). Going to her's instead, only costs 55, which my parents will actually pay, lol.

I went to prom about a week ago, cost me $430 all together, including a tux, two tickets, pictures, food. It was pretty fun.

    Mine is on May 21.
We have 3 phases: Grad, Banquet, and Aftergrad. (Mind you, we do this all in one day).

Grad is when we get dressed up in cap'n'gowns and accept our stand-in diplomas.

Banquet is where you and your family (and possibly a date) go and have dinner, dance, and mingle with other families.

Aftergrad is the party where it's just students. Naturally, most all of us get drunk and have a good time.

$400 for a once in a life time event isn't a waste (unless you go more than once). Everyone at my school usually only goes senior year.

not a waste, but it's hyped up beyond belief. I went to prom in gr 11 (had a suit lying around got invited figured why not) Debating going this year since that suit probably won't fit and I don't have several hundred for another one.

Just an excuse to party, didn't find it much more fun than a good bonfire last time. If you go and just hang out with a girl expect to be disappointed.

We don't have Proms in New Zealand, we have "Balls"... yea, we all have testicles.

But seriously School Balls are actually pretty fun here, and every school always has an Afterball, which is basically what everyone looks forward to - Starting at midnight (once the ball has finished), we travel to some random location (people actually secretly organize it) and get on it until sunrise.... last year it was at a warehouse in the middle of nowhere... best party I have been at to date.

Last year I scored a MINT date- like, potentially one of the best looking girls at the ball - This year I'm just going with my Girlfriend, who is even better looking tbh.
Ours is still in a month though...

Went once freshmen year due to mistake on schools part, didn't complain
Two proms one night last year
Two proms different night this year

Here in Virginia, you have to be a Junior or Senior to go, unless you're asked by a Junior or Senior. I think you can be asked to go up until you're 20.

I went to my girlfriends prom in Florida in April, got a party bus, nice dinner, etc. Prom was at the Disney Hilton. It definitely was fucking awesome.

Went to another one this weekend (sucked balls tbh). Me and 2 friends went, McDonalds for dinner, changed in the car. Pretty chill.

My prom was pretty sweet... Imagine a pilothouse overlooking Lake Michigan, with a pro band and extremely good food with a hot date. Epic. The after parties were rad too.
