RuneFest ~ Flagstaff of Festivities

First off I was just wondering if anyone was going to RuneFest. I am not but if you do then you receive a code to get the Flagstaff of Festivities.

They are sort of performing a microtransaction and on the forums people have tried buying these codes for millions of junk (most of the threads have been locked however).

I don't like what they are doing and I wondered if you thought that Jagex will start selling other items for IRL cash.

 

Just like Blizzard and I'm not going and I don't think anyone else here is.

 

Indeed, they will probably start selling toy figures and characters in full dragon etc. Like blizzard have done, they will probably team up with Jinx or something.

 

do you guys care or are you disappointed? earlier when jagex removed the wild they said they would never support using irl cash to get in game items... now they are going against their word.... they should just bring the wild back =P

Someone needs to report Jagex for RWT.

even though its a promotional item they are still giving it out in exchange for money... i dont really like the item but now my toy box is going to have one more empty slot

 

This is stupid, Jagex are completely going against themselves here. People with these banners are going to get flamed so much though Lol.
I don't think that many people will actually attend though, especially since it's over-18's only.

 

It's a 16+ event I think, not 18+.

But anyway, I don't see why people are so bothered, this is a GIFT from Jagex for those who are attending the first celebration of what RuneScape is.

The flag has no added bonuses other than being recognised as a person who attended the RuneFest event.

Jagex are in no way promoting RWT. Everything about RWT is different, the items, levels or accounts you gain from RWT are of significant value unlike this flag.

As I already said, this is a gift from Jagex, they make no money whatsoever from it so what's so bad about it?

If little children are stealing their parents money to buy a ticket to RuneFest just to get a little worthless flag then whose to blame? Not Jagex.

Its a 20+ Event since Alcohol will be served..

 

I believe it's an 18+ event, as in the UK you must be 18 to buy/consume alcohol in public.

You dont get it with money from Jagex, u get it when you buy the ticket so like other people with a bit brain here have said, its a gift.
Only way to get it for money is from other players and that would be RWT.

This is totally RWT as they are giving an item in exchange for money, and even those of you who say "This is a gift." Ask yourself is Jagex giving something to players who send them money or not? Yes they are, therefore they are giving an advantage to those players that have wealth and not those who cannot afford a trip to London.
