Sythes Server Downgraded?

Im pretty sure that Sythe has had it's server downgraded...

Most users online was like 2K+ in 2005, back then, when I wasn't registered, the site used to run PERFECT, nowadays it's down 10+ hours per day or running ridiculously slow, im guessing only 4 hours a day it works without being slow.

ok, 2000+ People and working perfect, nowadays 70 online and I get the message "Server too busy. Try again later" This tells me something. :s

 

I don't think the server is downgraded, it's just getting attacked more.

 

Unfortunately, DDOS attacks are becoming more frequent- hence the server down-time. If anything, a lot has been improved since... it's just not visible, such as the "Google Cache" feature.

 

It happens like once a day to me, usually early in the morning, so I'm not too bothered about it.

Sythe servers did not downgrade. More people are attacking it by DDoS for goodness knows what reason. >_>

 

Mainly because people didn't attack Sythe back in 2005.

 

Why are people attacking sythe servers?
Sadness?

 

i find it s working around 15 hours a day for me. The rest is because im sleeping.

 

Some people doing it are actually personally attacking Sythe himself - either they hold a grudge, or attempting to blackmail him.
Others just have nothing better to do with their pathetic life....

 

I don't get it.. I've been on sythe for years and never really had slow/down issues.. maybe I just come on at lucky times, haha.

 

wow, how pathetic. Can't you get some DDoS protection for forums like this?

 

We have a firewall, but that doesn't block out everything. I've seen several companies offering protection against DDoS, but they're all rather expensive.

 

Yea, and unfortunately I doubt Sythe has the money to fund for this protection... he has stated before that he wouldn't even bother hosting Sythe itself if he made any less profit than he does currently (and trust me, it's not much to begin with).

And in regard to Nathan (and some other members), are you serious about never getting server down-time? I get it EXTREMELY often... sometimes the website doesn't even load for hours.

 

I get it sometimes. It's not a really big deal. I just wait for it to pass.

It pisses me off rofl, I do a firecape or a free Jad, upload the picture for my thread, then when I try post, takes like 1 hour before it says a unexpected error occured, then I have to wait for ages before I can post the picture.

 

Just like when you caped for me Blaze .

Other note i usually get downtime anywhere between 1 to 3 times a week. I would rather see sythe making more profit from this site so things like this can be avoided. Sadly we can't always get what we want

 

If it doesn't get posted within a few seconds, I'll save whatever I meant to post to a notepad and go do something else.

What times are you on and what timezone?

 

Nope, never. I don't spend all day browsing on here though so I probably do just come on at lucky times.

 

Mostly happens to me on the weekend and around 12pm to 3pm AEST Time.
